Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has discovered a fresh pastime to keep himself busy during his exile, according to a royal biographer. The disgraced former Duke of York has been banished and relocated from his previous home, Royal Lodge in Windsor, to Marsh Farm in Norfolk.
Andrew’s recent downfall occurred after shocking revelations about his links with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein surfaced when the US published millions of documents about him earlier this year. Andrew was also stripped of all his royal titles and honours, following a dramatic move by his own brother, the King, last year, in an attempt to separate the Royal Family from the controversy.
Now, a royal biographer has offered a rare insight into the former prince’s new isolated existence in banishment. Royal biographer Andrew Lowrie claimed Andrew has “lost any sort of purpose in life”.
He told the Palace Confidential podcast that Andrew is very interested in technology and has apparently taken to playing video games to fill his time, reports the Express.
The biographer said: “He’s always been a couch potato, always watching videos or films and now he just seems to like to play video games.”
He added that Andrew is “fascinated” by simulation games where planes land, which “goes back to his pilot training.”
The author also revealed that Andrew enjoys Call of Duty, a first-person shooter he spends hours playing.
Mr Lowrie said: “I think he’s someone who needs a discipline. I think the services were good for him. There was a focus there and and a discipline.”
