EXCLUSIVE Jamie Carragher has told Mikel Arteta how many trophies Arsenal can win – with the Gunners on the cusp of a historic double

Arsenal stand on the cusp of a historic double – Everton’s body blow on Manchester City put the Premier League title in the Gunners’ hands.

And they then placed one of them on the trophy on Sunday after Leandro Trossard’s late strike against West Ham. While speaking to Daily Star Sport, Jamie Carragher admitted he thinks Arsenal will now win the Premier League – but it won’t be the same in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta’s side will face PSG in Budapest at the end of the month, and Carragher was clear in his prediction: “I think PSG will win the Champions League. I think PSG are the better team,

“But that doesn’t mean Arsenal can’t win the final…PSG could have an off game.

“They’re a different team to PSG, there’s almost a contrast, really. Which hopefully will make a great game – I’ll be over there in Budapest.

“But when you watch PSG play, and what they did last season, they are a level above!”

Arsenal have had the easier path to Budapest: The Gunners topped the group phase and earned the right to make their way to Hungary via the gold route.

The Gunners navigated clashes with Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting CP before a semi-final blockbuster with Atletico Madrid. PSG, meanwhile, had to compete in the play-offs after failing to finish in the top eight of the league phase.

PSG beat Monaco, Chelsea and Liverpool en route to an instant classic with Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

The Parisian giants looks set to claim yet another Ligue 1 success this season, but they fell short in the Coupe de France.

Arsenal have also been dealt a major blow ahead of the final – with Ben White ruled out until the end of the season after he limped off over the weekend against the Hammers. It leaves Arteta with an almighty selection headache at right-back.

Declan Rice was dropped to full-back, but Arteta changed it again at half-time, with Cristhian Mosquera coming on for Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly switching to left-back.
