Trump well being fears surge as Chinese chief pressured to intervene and assist US President
Donald Trump appeared exhausted while climbing a staircase alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping during their Beijing summit, with the two leaders pausing for a rest
Donald Trump sparked a major health alert in Beijing after he appeared to buckle on a flight of stairs, forcing Chinese President Xi Jinping to step in and save him. The US President firebrand sparked a fresh wave of medical concerns when he seemed physically unable to conquer the steps of the Great Hall of the People in a single go.
Cameras caught the dramatic moment the two most powerful men on Earth came to a grinding halt mid-ascent.
As a weary-looking Trump struggled to compose himself, President Xi was seen placing a stabilising hand on his guest’s back to usher him inside.
The shocking display of frailty comes just days after Trump was branded “unfit to serve” following reports he was caught “nodding off” during a vital Oval Office health briefing. Despite the visible exhaustion, the pair later joined a glitzy state dinner.
While Trump showered his host with praise, telling Xi, “it’s an honour to be your friend,” the Chinese leader was busy laying down the law.
Behind closed doors, Xi reportedly issued a chilling warning that Washington’s stance on Taiwan could spark conflict.
A spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry later confirmed that Xi told Trump: “The Taiwan question is the most important issue in China-US relations.”
Trump, seemingly undeterred by the stern lecture, doubled down on his admiration for the Communist leader.
He said: “You’re a great leader. Sometimes people don’t like me saying it, but I say it anyway, because it’s true. It’s an honour to be with you. It’s an honour to be your friend.”
The health scare didn’t stop the President from firing off an early-morning Truth Social rant regarding the global energy crisis and his “military victory” in the Middle East.
Addressing claims that Xi had called the US a “declining nation,” Trump insisted the jibe was meant for Joe Biden.
He said: “On that score, he was 100% correct. President Xi was not referring to the incredible rise that the United States has displayed to the world during the 16 spectacular months of the Trump Administration.”
He went on to boast about the “military decimation of Iran (to be continued!)” despite top US brass admitting to Congress that the strategic Strait of Hormuz remains a powder keg.
While Admiral Brad Cooper confirmed the US has the military power to blast the shipping lanes open, Trump is instead pinning his hopes on his friend Xi to negotiate a peace deal with Tehran.
Trump told Fox News: “He’d like to see the Hormuz strait open. He said, ‘If I can be of any help whatsoever I would like to help’.”
