A jaw-dropping Sky Sport host has opened up on her celebration plans if her beloved Aston Villa make history to win the Europa League on Wednesday night

A stunning Sky Sports presenter has opened up about her plans to celebrate if her beloved Aston Villa win the Europa League.

Unai Emery’s side are looking to make history on Wednesday night in the Europa League final against Bundesliga side Freiburg in Istanbul. Fresh off securing Champions League football last weekend, Villa can crown a brilliant season by winning their first European trophy since 1982.

Villa’s star can write their name in the history books as they look to replicate the glorious European Cup winning side of 1982. It would also mark the club’s first trophy in 30 years as their loyal fans flock to the Besiktas Stadium in the hope of witnessing greatness.

However, one Villa fan won’t be in attendance with Sky Sports and VillaTV presenter Kate Tracey unable to make the trip. Kate is instead remaining back home in Birmingham as she hosts coverage of the game from the Warehouse at Villa Park.

But Kate told The Sun that her emotions won’t be dampened by not being at the game tonight. She said: “To be honest with you it’s more excitement than anything else.

“Everyone always says it’s a blend of nervousness and excitement but I am 80 per cent excited about it but everyone always says I should be more apprehensive than I am.

“At this moment, it’s more anticipation and hoping the lads get the honour they really deserve.”

Revealing how she plans to celebrate if Villa are victorious, Kate said: “Long into the night til the break of dawn. I’ve already taken the day off on Thursday just in the hope something might come about.

“I’m back in work very, very early in the morning on Friday, so yeah, we’ll give it a shot and drown sorrows if it doesn’t go our way. But I’m sure the Brummies will do what they do best and come together for a party, hopefully a positive party.”

Kate spoke of the generational divide between those who were old enough to watch Villa beat Bayern Munich in Rotterdam to lift the European Cup and the younger generation who could see the club winning their second European title 44 years later.

She also touched on the incredible rise the club has enjoyed just seven years after winning promotion back to the Premier League.

Kate said: “It’s funny talking to them because so many players have been there through the Championship up to the Premier League journey into Europe.

“Many of them can take in the scale of how far they have come, none of them take anything for granted and they are enjoying the ride. That’s the vibe I get from them.

“I was doing the post-match for Liverpool last Friday when they had the player parade to thank the fans and they were saying it’s incredible to be back in the Champions League next season, and there’s relief that’s done and it’s on to the big event now. But they’re overjoyed by their achievement of where they have come from.

“It’s just excitement, they’re like us fans, like little kids at Christmas looking forward to something, but then of course, as soon as they go back to the changing room and the training ground, they know Unai won’t allow them to lose any focus.”
