Virgin Media is dishing out a free £250 LG 4K Smart TV or a £125 bill credit to customers who sign up for one of its TV and broadband packages before the deadline

Virgin Media is offering complimentary smart TVs in a 10-day flash promotion. On Monday (May 18), the provider unveiled its latest giveaway where subscribers can secure a free £250 LG Smart TV.

It’s on offer when joining one of four Virgin TV and broadband bundles, each featuring hundreds of channels, complimentary Netflix and the choice to add Sky Sports and Cinema access. These comprise Virgin’s Cinema, Sports, Cinema + Sports or Max Volt packages.

Upon securing the offer, subscribers can opt to receive a 43″ LG Ultra HD smart TV valued at £249.99, or a £125 bill credit, with the latter essentially delivering weeks of complimentary service. Nevertheless, the clock is already running as subscribers must secure the offer by 11.59 pm on Wednesday, May 27.

Each of Virgin’s qualifying TV bundles features over 200 TV channels and a complimentary Netflix subscription, while the £44.99 Cinema package also includes complete Sky Cinema access and 362Mbps fibre broadband. Football, Formula 1 and rugby enthusiasts might favour the £54.99 Sport package, which swaps Sky Cinema for complete Sky Sports access.

Subscribers can also merge both packages with the £64.99 Sport + Cinema bundle, which additionally increases the broadband speed to 512Mbps. Yet Virgin’s premium option remains the £76.99 Max Volt bundle, which features over 230 TV channels, encompassing both Sky Cinema and Sky Sports, plus Netflix, 1,130Mbps broadband and an unlimited O2 SIM.

Virgin Media is giving away a free TV to new customers.

Virgin has also embraced the new One Touch Switch scheme, meaning fresh customers needn’t contact their existing provider to kick things off. Instead, Virgin will handle matters on their behalf and liaise with the other company to arrange the changeover, reports the Mirror.

A word of warning though – Virgin’s monthly charges will climb by £4 each April, so punters should factor this in when signing up to one of the 24-month deals. This comes as Sky unveils a competing offer ahead of the World Cup, slashing prices on its Glass smart TVs to as little as £4.50 (was £6) per month.

This reduced rate applies to the sleeker model, the Sky Glass Air, while the more robust Sky Glass Gen 2 now kicks off at £11 (was £14). Meanwhile, Amazon has revealed its rebranded Fire TV collection, alongside a fresh model, the Ember Artline, offering up to £320 off and crafted to challenge Samsung’s The Frame TV.

As for Virgin Media, punters have posted thousands of rave reviews for the company after joining up to its TV and broadband bundles. Glowing feedback particularly celebrates Virgin’s ‘blisteringly fast’ broadband speeds and ‘great value’.

One person said: “What an excellent experience from initial ordering to installation. Speeds are blisteringly fast, and signals are strong throughout the house. The TV package we chose will do us nicely, its operation being slick and intuitive. Excellent in all respects and great value for money.”

Another customer praised: “From the outset, we have found our experience with Virgin to be perfect. When the engineers came out, they were both friendly and helpful and made the changeover as seamless as they possibly could.”

One customer seemed generally satisfied, but docked a star from their review due to registration issues. They explained: “Overall, pretty smooth joining with the One Touch Switch process. There were some issues with the registration customer journey, with multiple emails telling me to sign up for a Virgin account before it was active, giving errors telling me my details couldn’t be found.”

Meanwhile, another Virgin Media user declared that switching was the ‘best thing I’ve done’. They enthused: “Best thing I’ve done. Controls are easy to use, and I love voice control. I’m impressed with the number of channels, the speed of my broadband and best of all, the price.”
