Heatwave sparks sweaty brawl outdoors Wetherspoons as ‘poor canine’ will get flung about
Four women were seen brawling outside a Wetherspoons pub in Lewisham, south east London, during the UK heatwave as a ‘poor dog’ watched on in disbelief as blows are exchanged
The heatwave appears to have ignited a fiery response from a group of women who sparked a mass brawl in a Wetherspoons beer garden.
The sweltering weather seems to have got the better of some Brits, as emotions ran high during a scrap outside a popular pub. As temperatures soar, people across the country have been flocking to beer gardens to soak up the sun.
However, for this particular group, their evening took a bitter turn, culminating in a punch-up on the doorstep of a Wetherspoons establishment. The shocking altercation unfolded outside The Watch House on Lewisham High Street, south east London, according to NeedToKnow.
The brawl kicked off on May 21, with temperatures hitting a peak of 23 degrees as the blistering weather set in.
Four women were caught up in the melee, one of whom had a small dog on a lead. The two main instigators traded blows while the other women attempted to separate them.
The situation escalated until three of the brawlers ended up on the ground, with the dog looking on in disbelief. The woman in leggings who managed to stay upright returned to her seat outside.
Other patrons eventually stepped in to break up the fight and defuse the situation. Bystanders were left stunned by the spectacle.
One person quipped: “Ah a punch up at spoons, as traditionally English as fish and chips.”
Another added: “Bit of sun and a few babychams.” Someone else remarked: “A little warm weather and alcohol.”
Another person commented: “And that was happy hour.” Yet another person said: “That poor dog.”
Meanwhile, a shocking video depicting a brutal brawl where teenagers appear to be reaching for weapons concealed in their clothing has circulated online.
The altercation, which seems to have occurred in the Q-Park car park at Liverpool ONE, shows a group of youngsters gathering near the lifts on one of the levels while two masked teenagers attempt to strike each other.
As the duo separate, one makes threatening gestures towards pulling a weapon from his tracksuit waistband, while another lad is spotted approaching the pair as he threatens to retrieve something from the rear of his trousers.
Merseyside Police has now launched an investigation into the incident which was filmed and viewed more than half a million times across social media platforms X and Facebook.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to Q-Park at 5.40pm on Saturday, May 16, following reports of youths gathering and creating a disturbance. Upon police arrival at the car park, the group dispersed, with enquiries now continuing into the footage shared online.
Liverpool Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Jack Woodward stated: “Work is ongoing to establish the circumstances of these incidents, and to identify those involved. If you have any information or dashcam from vehicles parked at the location this weekend, please come forward.
“Such incidents will not be tolerated and can lead to serious violence, as well as causing those who live, work and visit the city to feel intimidated and unsafe.
“There is currently a three-year Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in place to combat anti-social behaviour in the city centre and we’ve seen some positive results in recent weeks under this measure.”
