A 21 year old man who died in a collision involving a fire engine has been identified in a devastating tribute.
On the evening of May 25 Tommy Jarvis was struck by the emergency vehicle while returning home from his shift at Miller and Carter on an e-scooter. He was transported to hospital following the incident in Dartford, Kent but tragically just two days later he died surrounded by family in a London hospital.
Authorities confirm the fire engine was “responding to a reported emergency” and Kent Police are now requesting witnesses with dashcam footage to step forward.
In a devastating tribute, a friend of Tommy’s said: “Anyone who knew Tommy knows just how special he was. He was the biggest smile in every room, the loudest laugh, the friend who could lift your spirits no matter what kind of day you were having. He was kind, caring, loyal, and loved by so many. There will never, ever be another Tommy like him!
“He was so young with so much life still ahead of him. He was always road conscious and safety-minded, which makes this tragedy even harder to comprehend. His loss has left an unfillable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone lucky enough to have known him.” A GoFundMe has been established in Tommy’s name to help cover funeral costs.
