Amanda Holden added a touch of glamour to the World Cup frenzy posing in a full England kit complete with white heels and micro shorts, just hours before the team’s first match. As the nation gears up for England’s campaign to bring home the trophy starting with their game against Croatia in Dallas, Amanda showed her team spirit on social media by dressing up in her gear.
The 55-year-old shared snaps with her Heart FM colleagues Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston, all clad in England kits, with the caption: “Team @thisisheart”.
In another photo shared by the radio station the Britain’s Got Talent judge was seen holding a football, wearing an official jersey and matching shorts, but with a stylish twist as she paired the kit with white heels instead of trainers.
During the Breakfast show, Amanda led a chant of “It’s Coming Home” after Ashley Roberts surprised her co-hosts by swapping her USA kit for an England top live on air.
Amanda and her team aren’t the only celebrities getting into the World Cup spirit as football legend John Barnes recently took to the top of the London Eye to perform.
He literally went above and beyond to stand on top of a pod wearing a football shirt and taking in the stunning views of London before belting out his 1990 hit World In Motion ahead of England’s 9pm kick-off. The ex-England footballer was joined by the acapella group London A Cappella Collective for a breathtaking performance of the song, reports the Mirror.
Football enthusiasts are encouraged to join in with a special Singing for England pod, where they can support the team with a medley of celebratory songs.
John said: “World in Motion was written to capture that surge of belief you feel when England head into a tournament, and singing it today at the very top of the London Eye – a global symbol of London and beyond, and somewhere very few people have had the privilege of being – has taken that feeling to another level.”
“Being joined by the London A Cappella Collective and hearing the song reimagined, before I got to drop the rap, was really special. As the country rallies behind the Three Lions for the World Cup, I’m hoping that my highest ever performance of ‘World In Motion’ can help inspire the players to new heights ahead of the Croatia match.”
