Arsenal information: £240m switch plan as Mikel Arteta ‘will get inexperienced gentle for 5 signings’
Arsenal have already secured the permanent signing of Piero Hincapie and the Premier League champions are now looking to add five more players in another huge summer spending spree for Mikel Arteta
Arsenal are almost unrecognisable compared to when Mikel Arteta first took control in December 2019 and the newly-crowned Premier League champions intend to build from a position of strength this summer transfer window.
Across the past six-and-a-half years, the Spaniard has transformed the North London giants and after three second-placed finishes, he finally delivered their first Premier League crown in 22 years, sparking huge celebrations that not even a heartbreaking loss to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties in the Champions League final could overshadow.
It comes as little shock that some of the globe’s premier talents are now lining up for a chance to showcase their skills at the Emirates Stadium, keen to join one of football’s most exciting ventures. The Gunners could even approach their record £250million expenditure from last summer, having already confirmed the permanent £35m acquisition of Piero Hincapie this week. Here’s the lowdown on the Arsenal shortlist.

Jeremy Monga latest
Arsenal are chasing a £10m deal for Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga.
Despite numerous other Premier League clubs expressing interest in the 16-year-old winger, it’s believed Arsenal look to be the youngster’s most likely destination, given his keenness to move to north London.
The Gunners are seeking to find a middle ground in talks, considering the player’s contractual circumstances and his desire for a move to the club.
Monga will sign his first professional contract at the King Power Stadium on July 10, when he turns 17, which will allow the Foxes to demand a fee for the player.
The club are eager to prevent a tribunal deciding on a fee for Monga’s services. Their initial bid, which was around £5m, was rejected, with Leicester standing firm for at least £10m, reports the Mirror.
Free transfer
One of Arsenal’s primary objectives this summer is to secure a versatile full-back, able to operate on either flank. Given Tino Livramento’s injury history and Newcastle’s substantial valuation of the Englishman, there is scant suggestion the Gunners will complete a deal for him this summer.
Oscar Mingueza, though, is a player who suits Arteta’s requirements in multiple ways. According to Spanish outlet AS, Arsenal have been made aware of the opportunity to sign the Celta Vigo defender, whose contract is set to run out at the end of the month, meaning he could be secured as a free agent.
The 27-year-old is expected to leave the La Liga side after a four-year stint, with considerable interest from the likes of Juventus, Newcastle and Aston Villa. Mingueza himself is eager to make the switch to England, having spent his entire career in his homeland.
With a market value of £15m, Arsenal could bag quite the bargain by securing his services without shelling out a transfer fee. Mingueza is a reliable performer and his ability to stay injury-free would be invaluable.
£35m winger
The BBC reports Arsenal have been offered Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis as they look to rejuvenate their attacking options.
Earlier this month, it was suggested sporting director Andrea Berta was actively pursuing a potential deal, with Arteta also endorsing the signing.
Tzolis, 24, is reportedly extremely keen to join the ranks at Arsenal, giving them an extra edge as they aim to seal his signature. The Greece international could be available for around £35m – which would set a new record for a fee received for a Belgian Pro League player.
Tzolis, who kick-started his career at PAOK, netted three times in 30 outings for Norwich between 2021 and 2024. He is said to be ready for another crack at English football, having scored 43 goals for Brugge over the last two campaigns.
Morgan Rogers
Morgan Rogers is Arsenal’s top transfer priority this summer but a deal will not come cheap.
The Aston Villa star is regarded by Arteta as his headline acquisition, with the England ace able to feature both on the left flank and in midfield.
The player is ‘receptive’ to the prospect of joining Arsenal, despite interest from Manchester United. It is believed that a fee of more than £80m would be required for Villa to contemplate parting with the 23-year-old, who is presently representing the Three Lions at the World Cup.
Speaking from England’s World Cup base earlier this month, Rogers maintained his complete concentration remained on his international commitments rather than speculation regarding his future.
Nevertheless, it surfaced last week that Arsenal and England midfielder Declan Rice has been doing all he can to persuade Rogers to make the switch to the Emirates Stadium.
Bruno Guimares second bid ‘ready’
Arsenal are reportedly readying a second bid for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes following the rejection of an opening £55m offer.
Claims surfaced on Thursday indicating the Gunners had targeted the 28-year-old Brazil international and begun talks with his representatives.
Newcastle, though, delivered an unequivocal message – Guimaraes remains off limits – after speculation earlier this year that Manchester United were set to swoop for their midfield talisman.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are preparing to return with an improved offer for the former Lyon star, who has been at St. James’ Park since January 2022, and has two years left on his contract.
He has since made 195 appearances for the Magpies, scoring 31 goals, and played his role in ending the club’s lengthy trophy drought by claiming the Carabao Cup during the 2024/25 campaign.
Newcastle are said to be willing to offer Guimaraes a club-record £40million contract, which would take his weekly wage to around £200,000 and keep their star man – who they value at nearer £80m – at the club until 2030.
