But the noisy reception didn’t appear to faze Trump one bit, with the 47th President of the United States then refusing to exit the podium after handing the coveted prize over to the European champions after Spain beat Argentina 1-0 Sunday in the 2026 World Cup Final in New Jersey.

With their FIFA 2026 World Cup win, the Spanish football federation has made history as the first to bring home successive World Cup championships on the men’s and women’s side in the history of the tournament. Spain clinched the title after beating defending champions Argentina in extra time, with Ferran Torres firing home the winner after Argentina were reduced to 10 men when Enzo Fernandez saw red in the 93rd minute.
