Lily Phillips reveals secret physique hang-ups regardless of blowing £50k on cosmetic surgery

The controversial adult star has admitted that despite global success and being watched online every day, she still battles with body confidence issues

Lily Phillips has revealed that despite becoming one of the world’s biggest adult stars and spending £50k on cosmetic surgery, she still struggles with body confidence issues.

The 24-year-old said the constant scrutiny of filming X-rated content, posting racy photoshoots and social media has made her more critical of her appearance than ever before.

While many assume her success means she must have unshakeable self-esteem, Lily said confidence in her career is completely different from confidence in the way she looks. “I think this is a very human response, especially when your job revolves around your appearance,” Lily said.

“My career is built around people looking at me, judging me, and consuming content of me every day. When you’re constantly filming, taking photos, reading comments and seeing yourself on screen, it’s very easy to become hyper-aware of every little flaw.

“People often assume that because I work in the adult industry I’m completely confident in my body, but confidence and insecurity can absolutely exist at the same time. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have moments where I question myself.”

Lily (@‌lilyphillip_s) said one of the biggest misconceptions about her industry is that being comfortable performing on camera means someone feels comfortable in their own skin. She said: “I think because of my job people expect me to be one of the most confident people in the room.

“The reality is quite different. I would describe myself as a very competent person rather than an overly confident one.”

She added: “People often mistake being outgoing or successful for having perfect self-esteem, but they’re completely different things.” Lily admitted: “I catch myself comparing myself to others all the time, and it’s something I’ve really been trying to work on this year.”

She said appearing on television in Stan’s reality series Turned On: Dirty Sexy Money also made her realise just how harshly people judge themselves. “I think anyone who watches themselves back on television would probably feel the same,” she said.

Although Lily has spent roughly £50k on cosmetic procedures in the past, she said one of the biggest lessons she’s learnt is that changing your appearance doesn’t automatically change the way you feel about yourself.

“The problem I’ve realised is that as soon as one insecurity gets ‘fixed,’ your brain simply moves on to the next one.

“It becomes a never-ending cycle,” she said. “Surgery can change features, but it doesn’t automatically change the way you see yourself.

“If you’re constantly chasing perfection, you’ll never actually reach it because perfection doesn’t exist. That’s why I’ve realised surgery isn’t the answer to genuine self-acceptance.

“It can improve things physically, but it doesn’t fix the mindset behind the insecurity.”
