There has been widespread disbelief at the news of a once popular but then disgraced pair returning to the UK.

And I’m not talking about Richard Keys and Andy Gray, who are back from exile in Qatar to launch a new podcast Keys and Gray Unleashed. I’m referring to the other pair of plonkers who left the UK after scandals but have decided to come back with their tails between their legs.

Harry and Meghan of course. The most unwelcome comeback since the Covid lockdowns. Does the public have any say in this, seeing as we’ll probably have to fork out for their security? I think we should.

We should at least be able to force a Royal outcast swap deal. Harry in, pervy Andy flown out to live in the US. Sounds fair?

Who knows what Harry and Meghan will get up to when they arrive. Let’s hope it’s not another toe-curling Netflix series about their lives. Maybe they’ll be so desperate for cash they’ll enter the Jungle or become contestants on Strictly.

At least they would be recognisable. The latest series of the BBC dance show is packed full of so called celebs who are not household names in their own house. So much so that Ladbrokes have slashed the odds of the show being axed after the next series.

With a new presenting team in place and fans labelling the line-up “weak”, punters have been backing the BBC favourite to face an uncertain future

Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing is not long for this world

The bookmaker now make it just 3/1 from 8/1 that the current series proves to be the last one, with betting activity increasing in recent days as debate around the programme intensifies.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Strictly has been a Saturday night staple for years, but the betting suggests its final dance may be on the horizon.”

I think they’re spot on – quickstep your way to the bookies and put some cash on Strictly Come Dancing to be axed – 3/1
