Talksport host has on-air meltdown and fumes ‘it is absolute guff – now we have acquired a illness’
The Talksport host fumes again as his beloved Tottenham crashed out of the Carabao Cup, accusing players of having ‘trampoline feet’ and being infected with an illness called ‘Spursitus’
Jamie O’Hara looked close to tears as he was ribbed mercilessly after Spurs came crashing out of the Carabao Cup in a 3-1 horror show against Liverpool. Colleague Jason Cundy continually ridiculed Tottenham following their disastrous 3-1 away loss in the cup, wearing his famous Ange Postecoglou mask as he opened the show giggling as he asked: “Has anyone seen Tottenham? Three point lane. Can you hear me Seven Sisters Road?”
And O’Hara took it for a few minutes before exploding on air asking: “What is going on? We have a DISEASE.” He ranted: “The misery continues for spurs fans. I’m sick to death of it. Spurs get beat again. It’s like groundhog day, but every single day.”
Tottenham crashed out of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 defeat by Liverpool at Anfield after what has been a disastrous start to the season for the North London club.
Despite forking out more than £300 million in the summer transfer window, Roberto De Zerbi’s side arrived on Merseyside having not scored a single goal against Premier League opposition all season, and they remain winless against top-flight opponents too.
Alexis Mac Allister scored first for the hosts before Cody Gakpo lasered in a second in the second half. Conor Gallagher pulled one back but the dream of their first win of the season against a weakened Liverpool team was killed with a Dominik Szoboszlai screamer.
And O’Hara showed his displeasure in the hours following the final whistle in hilarious scenes on the TalkSPORT Sports Bar.
He ranted: “I’m sick and tired of it. Having to come on here and having to talk about it.
“Seriously what is going on?
“When is my night going to happen. I’ve been here five years and I reckon i’ve had one good night.
“Where do we go from here? We have got a disease where we don’t know how to win.”
He then launched into a tirade about the club and players.
“I’m watching ice creams on a pitch every single week,” he said. “Why is Tel playing? I’d rather have Richarlison. He’s terrible. He has trampoline feet.
“I thought we had a chance tonight. I thought ‘here we go, they’ll put in a decent performance.’ Liverpool put out players I didn’t even know but no. They’re infected with spursitis. We should have gone down.
“When you walk into that training room, you sign for the club and you get either injured or Spursitis. It’s written in the contract.”
