DWP letter to hit all PIP, DLA and Attendance Allowance claimants with new adjustments

The DWP has announced PIP, DLA and AA claimants will all be hit with letters detailing their updated payment rates before the new rates start in later in 2026

The Department for Work and Pensions have announced individuals receiving PIP, DLA and AA will be hit a letter in the mail as new DWP changes are to come into effect later in 2026.

The DWP has unveiled the proposed new weekly payment rates for individuals receiving disability benefits including PIP, DLA and AA. Those on these three benefits, as well as Carer’s Allowance, will experience a 3.8 per cent rise in payments from April.

According to DWP data, there are currently 3.9 million people claiming PIP, with weekly payments ranging between £29.20 and £187.45, which equates to £116.80 or £749.80 every four-week pay period.

With the 3.8 per cent uprating, payments will increase to between £121.20 and £778.20 every four-week payment period, reports Birmingham Live. Annual uprating letters will be sent out to all claimants before the new payment rates kick in from April.

These letters will inform individuals about the changes and it’s vital to keep this safe as it can often serve as proof of benefit entitlement when applying for other forms of financial support.

Attendance Allowance at the higher rate will now be paid at £114.60 (up from £110.40) – and £76.70 (up from £73.90) for the lower rate. The weekly payment rates for Carer’s Allowance will rise to £86.45 (up from £83.30).

The weekly earnings threshold will be £204.00 (up from £196.00). Disability Living Allowance will be paid at £114.60 (up from £110.40) at the highest rate, £76.70 (up from £73.90) at the middle rate and £30.30 (up from £29.20) at the lowest rate.
