Police officer appears to kick man into shop shutters after tasering him
This is the shocking moment a man is “kicked and elbowed” on the ground after he was Tasered. Stunning footage shows the man being surrounded by officers in Walthamstow, East London, on Saturday night.
As the man is backed up against a wall while in an apparent boxing stance, an officer shoots him with a Taser and he collapses on to his back. An officer approaches the man and shouts at him to lie “face down”.
The officer then appears to kick him as he tried to turn his body. The young suspect, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, is sent rolling into shop shutters.
After grabbing the suspect’s right arm and putting it behind his back, the officer appears to strike him three times with his elbow as he demands he puts his left arm behind his back. “Do what you are told”, shouts the officer as he restrains the man.
It is unclear what happened before the altercation, which was witnessed by more than a dozen people. One onlooker said: “What’s happened before I don’t know.
“One of my friends was out there smoking. I didn’t see the police coming as I was taping like loads of people.
“They Tasered him, he’s gone down and the police officer was swearing at him. I’ve never seen that in my life.
“If you can hear the crowd when he got booted there was a little gasp from the people that were there. I think we were all shocked.”
In the clip, the officer shouts at the man while he lies on the ground, saying “get on your f*****g face now!”
He then appears to boot him into a shop shutter before kneeling on the man’s back.
The onlooker added: “Even though he was already subdued, one officer reportedly elbowed him three times in the back while handcuffing him. From my view, the man was no longer a threat. This use of extra force seems unnecessary.
“Police should use only the minimum force needed to keep people safe. Once someone is under control, there is no need for further violence.
“I feel this situation shows excessive force, and I hope it will be looked at carefully.”
