Andrew invited to ‘Boom Boom Room’ on doomed journey to chop Epstein off

Newly released emails reveal Andrew’s 2010 visit to Jeffrey Epstein included lavish dinner parties and secret lounge trips, casting doubt on claims he went to end their friendship

New claims have been made that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was invited to the so-called ‘Boom Boom Room’ when he visited Jeffrey Epstein in 2010. The fateful trip had been organised to formally end their friendship and not to socialise — but fresh details have surfaced challenge what the former prince said.

Disgraced ex-royal Andrew travelled to New York for a week to “cut ties” with Epstein after his conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution, he explained. In his disastrous Newsnight interview in 2019, Andrew said: “I felt that doing it over the telephone was the chicken’s way of doing it.

“I had to go and see him and talk to him,” he insisted to Emily Maitlis at the time. “If there was a party, then I’d know nothing about that.”

However, emails from the latest Epstein files release have raised questions about his claims, revealing dinner arrangements with supermodels. On top of this, there were also plans to attend an exclusive spa, and even an invitation to the ‘Boom Boom Room’.

Andrew initially suggested the visit in an email dated April 2010, while Epstein was still under house arrest following his conviction. In July that year, Epstein was eventually allowed to leave his Palm Beach residence, at which point he received a congratulatory message from the disgraced ex-Duke saying “Congratulations!”

Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing in connection to his relationship with Epstein, reports the Mirror. However, he has not publicly commented on the most recent file drop from the US Department of Justice last month.

Dates were subsequently confirmed for Andrew to visit New York between November 29 and December 7. Epstein travelled from the paedophile’s private island back to New York for the visit, with Andrew collected by one of Epstein’s household staff and provided accommodation on the fourth floor of the paedophile’s Manhattan residence.

Whilst it remains unclear precisely what occurred during the first few days of the trip, Epstein reportedly arranged for Andrew to be invited to the Boom Boom Room on the evening of his arrival. The bar and nightclub, officially termed Top of the Standard, sits on the 18th floor of The Standard hotel with panoramic 360 degree vistas of the Big Apple skyline and Hudson River. Whether they attended remains unknown.

On December 2, Epstein hosted a lavish dinner party for the then-prince where he mingled with film director Woody Allen, political strategist George Stephanopoulos, and journalist Katie Couric. The following day, Epstein and Andrew seemed to have arranged dinner plans with British supermodel Naomi Campbell.

On December 4, Epstein then seemed to make a request for “new girls” in mysterious emails. One email, dispatched to a woman called Irina, saw Epstein enquire “Anyone new for tonight?”

She replied with: “Not yet, but I’m working on that! Do you want to see [redacted] or [redacted] again?” On the same day, Epstein and Andrew went browsing together at department store Barneys and shared a meal with NEXT Model management founder Faith Kates.

That afternoon, Epstein dispatched a driver to collect Latvian model Lana Zakocela, then 21, from John F Kennedy airport. He promised her accommodation for “one or two nights”.

A video conference was organised with Senegalese politician Karim Wade to explore “opportunities in Africa” whilst he attempted to arrange several meetings with business figures, including former Barclays CEO Jes Staley. Emails between Epstein and Soon Yi Previn revealed he invited her and her husband Woody Allen for “Sunday bagels” on December 5, before taking a stroll with Andrew through Central Park, where they were photographed.

Messages show another lunch was scheduled the next day, this time featuring Epstein, Andrew and Valerie Post. Epstein asked: “Want to come for lunch 1-2. Andrew and the daughter of the Australian prime minister, or 5.30 for a repeat of yesterday.”

In a separate email, Epstein seemed to mention Naomi Campbell and her “boyfriend coming for dinner at 9.” In another message wrote: “Bill Gates will be here”; it is understood Andrew left for home late on December 6.
