Furious Tottenham followers trolled by personal DJ after Crystal Palace humiliation
Tottenham fans were trolled by their own DJ following the disastrous defeat against Crystal Palace that leaves the Europa League champions in a relegation battle
Tottenham fans were trolled by their own DJ at full-time of the disastrous defeat to Crystal Palace.
Spurs were thrown firmly into a desperate relegation battle as Palace came from 1-0 down to beat the 10-men 3-1 after Mickey van der Ven’s sending off in a crazy first-half that could be a huge moment in the club’s history.
Igor Tudor’s side looked hopeless and have been dragged kicking and screaming into a relegation dogfight that most of the players on the pitch think they’re above being involved in. At full-time while Palace players were celebrating with the still packed away end, only a handful of Spurs fans remained in the stadium.
An aerial half-time shot showed some supporters leaving while the fire alarm appeared to have been pulled midway through the second half with the ground largely empty in the closing stages.
But those who remained until the end, whether stuck in their seat by sadness or wanting to give the players some well-deserved stick, were left in a worse mood by the choice of music over the stadium sound system.
The stadium DJ first played Dakota by Stereophonics, with the lyrics ‘I don’t know where we are going now’ echoing around the stadium.
Next up was Harry Styles’ hit ‘As It Was’, compounding the mood inside the crowd as the song went ‘You know it’s not the same as it was.’
The choice of full-time tunes left fans on social media in stitches as one said: “’As it was’ by Harry styles playing at fulltime is s***housery by their own DJ.”
A second added: “Tottenham just been battered by Palace and are in a relegation battle and the stadium dj is playing Harry Styles. My head would be hot.”
“THEY’RE PLAYING ‘AS IT WAS’ AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM. THE DJ,” another laughed.
Unfortunately the music was turned off soon after, before ‘Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word’ by Elton John was set to play – we imagine.
Tottenham are just one point above the relegation zone with a trip to Anfield to play Liverpool in 10 days.
