‘Trump mentioned I’d deserve it if my son died’, says ex-congresswoman who fell out with him
Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed that President Donald Trump told her she would ‘deserve it’ if her son were killed and said if she released the texts she’d ‘probably get put in jail’
Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed that President Donald Trump told her she would “deserve it” if her son were killed.
She made the striking allegation during remarks at the Ron Paul Institute in Texas. While describing her public dispute with Trump over the release of the so-called Epstein Files, Greene said she had been receiving death threats, including threats targeting her youngest son.
According to Greene, she forwarded those threats to several officials in the Trump administration, among them Kash Patel and Vice President JD Vance. “And then I heard back from Donald Trump. And I saved these text messages; I’d probably get put in jail if I released them publicly, but I saved them,” Greene said.
“Donald Trump proceeded to tell me it was my fault and that I deserve it. If my son gets killed, I deserve it because I was a traitor to him.
“That is our President of the United States. That’s the man that says MAGA (Make America Great Again) is whatever he wants it to be.”
Greene has not released the alleged messages publicly.
Once a prominent figure within the MAGA movement, Greene had been one of Trump’s most vocal allies for years. She was elected to represent Georgia’s 14th Congressional District in 2020 and took office in 2021.
Trump later backed her successful 2022 re-election campaign, and she remained an active supporter ahead of the 2024 presidential race.
Their relationship later deteriorated when Greene began forcefully advocating for the release of the Epstein Files.
She has also previously said that Trump warned her “my friends will get hurt” when explaining his opposition to making the files public.
In November 2025, Greene announced she would step down from her congressional seat, citing in part the threats made against her and her family.
Trump has not publicly responded to Greene’s allegations.
