Holidaymakers looking to pack lighter this summer are swapping bulkier smart speakers for a compact Bose model that shoppers say delivers impressive sound wherever they go. One buyer even said they replaced their Apple Mini speaker with the Bose SoundLink Flex Portable Bluetooth Speaker (2nd Gen), praising its excellent audio quality and travel-friendly design.
The speaker itself is now down to £98 from £149.95 on Amazon, saving buyers 35% in the limited-time deal. Despite its compact size, the portable speaker is designed to deliver clear, balanced audio and surprisingly deep bass.
It’s small enough to hold or clip onto a bag, making it a convenient option for holidays, picnics, camping trips and days at the beach. Built for outdoor use, the speaker carries an IP67 rating, meaning it’s both waterproof and dustproof.

Offering 32+ hours of portable playtime and Bluetooth, allowing buyers to connect their smart device over a range of up to 30 feet, this makes it ideal for days away or holidays. Argos has the Sony Bluetooth Portable Party Speaker for a higher price of £399.99 on its website.
This one has seven internal speakers, is Bluetooth compatible and is a bigger option in comparison to the other two. The Bose speaker from Amazon, however, has a 4.7 out of five-star rating from more than 10,000 reviews.
One person said: “It is excellent quality, it looks the part. The sound, even when turned on, is impressive and connects beautifully to my iPad and Mac. No problem at all. I brought this to replace my Apple mini speaker for the holidays because it does not rely on Wi-Fi, which can be problematic for the mini when weaker.”
Another added: “Great base and sound quality. Very easy to use with the app and has phenomenal battery life! We haven’t used it with water.” A third person said: “Classic Bose. Very nice design and equally easy to connect. Already a significant upgrade on a recent purchase that should be avoided.”
Some did remove a star, however. For example, this person said: “Good upgrade to the old Bose mini SoundLink, not quite as good as the old one, better looking and more compact.”
Another added: “Overall, it’s a great speaker – the sound and clarity, the bass, the volume. The only thing I’d want to improve is the battery life.”
