‘My woman accuses me of fantasising about Kylie Jenner when we now have intercourse – however she’s obsessed’

My beautiful girlfriend is obsessed with billionaire Kylie Jenner. She’s obsessed with her looks and her wealth. She frequently accuses ME of fantasising about Kylie whenever we have sex, which is just not true.

My girl is discontented with life. She looks at Kylie and wants her career and her relationships. She can’t accept her lot when her idol has so much. My girl is 26 and currently works in a coffee shop. We have a July trip to Ibiza planned but she complains that time is passing her by. How do I make her accept that she is destined for an ordinary life?

JANE SAYS: It’s tough for young people in 2026 when celebrities and influences appear to have it all. My heart goes out to your girlfriend who, I’m sure is doing brilliantly getting through life the best she can.

She’s putting in the hours at a coffee shop and has saved up for a trip to Ibiza next month, which will be lovely.

But the reality is that someone like Kylie Jenner (28) is an anomaly. She is different. She’s from a hugely successful media family who live by totally different rules to the rest of us. While she and her famous relatives (Kim, Kendall, Khloe etc) are flying around the world making headlines, the rest of us are quietly getting on with the serious business of making a living and keeping our heads above water.

Scenes last weekend of half-sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian at the Monaco Grand Prix, swanning through the crowds, lapping up the attention of the F1 fans and world media were extraordinary, but that stuff isn’t real. It was like the circus had hit the town.

It’s Hollywood spin. It’s make believe. It’s fake.

No one would blame your girlfriend for looking at these superstars and uttering the immortal words: “It’s not fair” but life isn’t fair. We don’t always get the breaks we crave so we must make the best of our talents and look for the positives. Joy and satisfaction may even come from helping other people.

Your girlfriend has energy, her freedom and you. Explain that you’re free to fantasise about anyone you like during sex, that’s your business, but the fact is that you don’t think about Kylie because you love her.

There’s no point starting unnecessary arguments when Kylie Jenner and her beau Timothee Chalamet are complete strangers.

Also, does your girl seriously believe that rich and famous people don’t have problems of their own? Just because they have cash and fame doesn’t make them impervious to stress, insecurity and self-doubt.

Level with your girl. Beg her to stop looking over her shoulder and start living in the moment and counting her blessings. With hard work, commitment and a plan, her life can be as interesting and successful as she wants it to be. She should always be encouraged to consult her GP if she is struggling to cope with her mental health.
