Glam conwoman nicked jewelry from brides and swiped antiques whereas house-sitting
Glam conwoman Ariana Rose, 40, born Sana Ali, has pleaded guilty to seven fraud counts after allegedly stealing brides’ jewellery including a Rolex and swapping antiques for fakes
A glamourous conwoman who posed as a high-society influencer and celebrity make-up artist has admitted a string of frauds – including stealing jewellery from brides and nicking antiques while house-sitting in posh country homes.
Ariana Rose, 40, who was born Sana Ali, appeared via videolink from Bronzefield prison at a UK Crown Court this, where she pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraud and one count of perverting the course of justice. She is now awaiting sentence.
Rose allegedly embedded herself in the wedding world under a string of aliases, including “Arosemakeup” and “Ariana Lily”, targeting brides at their most vulnerable. One of the most shocking claims is that she used her close access to women on their wedding days to steal high-value luxury items – including a Rolex watch.
The theft was only uncovered after the devastated bride later spotted Rose wearing what appeared to be the exact same Rolex in her glossy Instagram “lifestyle” posts months after the big day. Other victims claim Rose booked expensive destination wedding make-up jobs, cancelled at the last minute, refused refunds and racked up multiple County Court Judgments (CCJs).
Some of those allegedly conned banded together in online support groups to warn others, the Times reported. But the scams didn’t stop at weddings.
While awaiting trial for tenancy fraud in late 2025, Rose allegedly used the platform TrustedHousesitters to gain access to luxury estates in Suffolk, Somerset, Hampshire and Essex, according to the Times. Once left alone, she is reportedly accused of systematically stealing thousands of pounds’ worth of authentic jewellery, silverware and antiques – and replacing them with cheap replicas.
Among the items reported missing were a £2,500 cocktail watch, a £4,000 gold bracelet, and sentimental family Christmas ornaments collected over 27 years, as per the Times. Her crime spree reportedly unravelled when Warwickshire Police arrested her driving a rented BMW 2 Series sports car packed with designer sunglasses, €2,450 (£2,116) in cash, international currencies and a stolen Rolex.
Cops also recovered photos on her mobile phone allegedly showing her posing with the stolen items – images that helped officers trace back and identify further victims, the Time reported. Investigators reportedly say Rose also spent years running sophisticated rental and tenancy scams, largely in Manchester and London.
In one case, she moved into a luxury flat in Ladbroke Grove, West London, using fake employment references, then refused to pay rent for two years – leaving more than £43,000 in arrears, the Sun reported. In Manchester, she allegedly illegally sublet a retiree’s apartment, pocketing £30,337 in fraudulent fees and deposits from unsuspecting housemates while using fake emails to cover her tracks.
Victims also reportedly accused her of using aggressive and threatening intimidation when challenged. Rose’s history of deception stretches back almost two decades, including a 2008 conviction for stealing £60,000 through unauthorised transactions while employed at Barclays, and a 2011 jail term of 20 months for fake tenancy contracts and deposit scams, the Times reported.
In a sign of victims’ desperation, one defrauded property manager, Caroline Evans, reportedly funded a £6,000 private prosecution after growing frustrated at a lack of action.
