Top-secret Area 51 peak blocked off by US authorities to cover ‘subsequent gen’ army weapons

The US government has shut down Area 51’s last public lookout at Tikaboo Peak, sparking fears it is hiding secret next-gen fighter jets from the public

The US government has abruptly shut down the final public vantage point overlooking Area 51, sparking wild new theories about what is happening inside the secretive military base. A massive new no-go zone covering more than 23,000 acres of Nevada wilderness has been established.

The lockdown includes Tikaboo Peak, famed among UFO hunters and military buffs as the last legal spot to catch a glimpse of the base, even from 26 miles away. The sudden shutdown was flagged by seasoned Area 51 researcher Joerg Arnu, who warned the barriers were “set up overnight.”

While the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) claims the restriction is a routine move to protect public safety, Arnu insists he has “have never seen anything like this happen.”

Speaking to the US Sun, Arnu said: “There was no public notice, no hearing, no nothing. Signs were simply put up stating that this area is now closed to the public. In the notice, it says that although nobody has ever gotten hurt, they just want to prevent it.”

“So basically, while no serious accidents have occurred, they have pre-emptively closed those whole mountain ranges. It’s absolutely irregular.”

The veteran researcher suspects the sudden blackout is directly linked to highly classified, cutting-edge defence programmes currently undergoing trials at the airstrip. According to Arnu, the military is likely testing a trio of advanced warplanes.

He said: “One project is the Boeing F-47 – that’s the new next generation fighter jet. Another related project is the Next Generation Air Dominance project, abbreviated as NGAD. The third project is a new Navy fighter jet, commonly known as F/A-XX.”

With the peak now strictly off-limits, Arnu fears the Pentagon is getting twitchy about civilians spotting their experimental tech in action.

He said: “In the past, they had one aircraft being tested. But now, you have specific procedures and tactics being tested, and I think they don’t want the public to see those tactical procedures.”

The sweeping new restrictions cover far more than just the famous lookout point. Two whole mountain ranges, popular hiking trails, campgrounds and off-road tracks have all been blocked off.

Arnu believes geopolitical tensions might be driving the sudden rush to hide the base from public eyes.

He said: “There may be a bit of urgency due to current events. They feel they have to step up their game and accelerate things.”

However, the BLM’s sudden land grab could deal a devastating financial blow to the local economy, which relies heavily on alien-hunting tourism.
