Killer moved after jail warden ‘fantasised about leaving husband’ for him

A killer has been moved to the notorious Monster Mansion jail after a female prison guard was arrested for allegedly fantasising about leaving her husband for him

A killer has been shipped off to the notorious Monster Mansion jail following allegations of an improper relationship with a female prison guard. Joe Storey, 32, was swiftly moved across the country after it emerged that prison warden Tammie Daplyn had reportedly fantasised about ditching her husband to be with the convicted murderer.

In a brazen text message sent to her mates, she allegedly boasted: “I f*****g love that man.” Storey, who is currently serving a 24-year stretch for the murder of his former partner, was initially thrown into solitary confinement at HMP Whitemoor in Cambridgeshire.

However, prison chiefs have now transferred him to the ultra-secure HMP Frankland in Durham.

The grim high-security fortress houses some of Britain’s most depraved criminals, including serial killer Levi Bellfield and monster cop Wayne Couzens.

It is also the same jail where Soham murderer Ian Huntley was subjected to a fatal attack in February. An inside source revealed that Storey was left “furious” by the sudden relocation.

The insider told The Sun: “There’s just no way he could stay at Whitemoor. This is the jail system’s way of getting its own back.”

While there is currently no suggestion that Daplyn and the inmate engaged in a physical affair, the prison guard has been suspended from her duties and remains under investigation.

Cambridgeshire Police confirmed a 48-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office.

Storey was jailed in 2017 after he brutally battered 32-year-old mother-of-two Kerri McAuley to death inside her Norwich flat.
