Over a 3rd of Brits save their favorite TV reveals to observe on the go
Brits now download and save their favourite TV shows and films for train journeys, flights and holidays.
A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that many now routinely watch television programmes (35%) or films (33%) while on the go. A further 70% squeeze entertainment around their timetable rather than the other way around. Some of this year’s most significant sporting television moments have been enjoyed while travelling, including key moments from last season’s Premier League fixtures (25%) and the excitement of the World Cup (21%).
Well-loved reality television moments have also been viewed during journeys, with Love Island (18%) and The Traitors (14%) amongst the most frequently watched programmes.
The study was commissioned by Samsung to launch the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which unfold to help maximise the viewing experience while mobile.
It emerged that 33% purposely reserve their favourite content for train journeys, while 34% maintain a backlog of programmes and films queued up for upcoming trips, meanwhile 30% store viewing material specifically for flights and holidays.
While 47% agree that their evening viewing habits remain significant, 39% confess they are frequently too exhausted in the evening to watch a programme or film from beginning to end.
As such, they are increasingly watching entertainment throughout the day as well.
For 46%, travelling represents one of the rare uninterrupted chances to properly savour a programme, film or book without the disruptions of daily life.
The research also revealed the characteristics shoppers increasingly prioritise when enjoying entertainment while on the go.
More than three quarters (76%) highlighted portability as being crucial, while a further 75% prize durability in a gadget when using it while mobile.
Possessing a large screen is equally a concern for 73% of respondents, demonstrating the rising appetite for immersive viewing experiences beyond the home.
The study from Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which opens out into an eight-inch main display, revealed 51% stated that being able to multitask is vital when juggling entertainment with daily activities while travelling.
