Manchester United new boy Andrey Santos married his wife at 19 before spoiling her with a lavish birthday gift.
The Brazilian could make his competitive United debut against Hull City on Saturday after arriving from Chelsea for a fee that could rise to £50million. Despite being just 22, Santos already has plenty of life experience, having signed for Chelsea as a teenager from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama.
He’s also had loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Chelsea’s French sister club, Strasbourg. Away from the pitch, Santos married his childhood sweetheart, Yngryd Freire, in his homeland in 2023.

Santos took the bold step of wearing shorts and trainers for the big day, although his new wife, wearing a stunning white dress, didn’t seem to mind. The couple then shared their love for each other in Instagram posts.
Three years on, the couple remain very much in love, with Freire celebrating her 25th birthday earlier this summer. To mark the occasion, Santos bought his beau an astonishingly large bouquet of roses that she looked only too pleased to receive, judging by a snap on Instagram.
In a gushing tribute, Santo wrote: “Today the woman of my life is turning 25. I thank God so much for the wife you are, the woman you are, the mother you are, and the daughter you are.

“I know that all of us who are around you and live with you, including me and our children, are very proud of you!
“Thank you for so much, I am very happy by your side, every moment we spend together, happy moments, not so happy moments, but in all of them we always stay together, and with God.
“I wish you all the best, my wife, my companion, my best friend, know that I love you very much and I am very proud of you.

Santos will now be playing his football in the Red Rose county after signing a five-year deal with United. He will be hoping to be involved as Michael Carrick’s side look to get off to a winning start against newly promoted Hull.
Speaking earlier in pre-season, he said: “I feel so comfortable [at United]. Since my first day, I felt at home and I’m so happy to be here and to play very well.”
