Pensioner ‘blocked’ attacker stabbing lady as passengers thought it was ‘Halloween prank’

A pensioner has been hailed a hero after he “blocked” a knifeman from stabbing a young girl in an attack on a UK train, according to an eyewitness.
The incident, which occurred last night (November 2), saw ten people stabbed on the train heading towards Huntingdon station.
The pensioner, believed to be one of those taken to hospital, was reportedly seriously injured after trying to protect the young girl.
According to an eyewitness, passengers initially thought the incident was a night-after-Halloween prank as people shouted “run, run, there’s a guy literally stabbing everyone.”
Olly Foster told the BBC the incident, which lasted around 10 to 15 mins, felt “felt like forever”.
He said the older man “blocked” the attacker from stabbing a girl. The hero passenger was left with a gash on his head and neck with fellow passengers coming to his aid to apply pressure to the wounds with their jackets.
He added that passengers had a bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey to use as a weapon as they were “praying” he would not enter their carriage.
