Premier League membership sack supervisor simply weeks after signing new deal
Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked manager Vitor Pereira, with the team languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table. The final nail in the coffin was a 3-0 defeat at Fulham, leaving Wolves with a mere two points from 10 matches.
Despite making nine changes from the squad that was knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Chelsea earlier in the week, Pereira couldn’t spark a win at Craven Cottage. Wolves played more than half the match with ten men following Emmanuel Agbadou’s 36th-minute sending off, but they were already trailing 1-0.
Harry Wilson added to Ryan Sessegnon’s early goal before a Yerson Mosquera own goal sealed their fate.
In mid-September, despite a sluggish start to the season, Pereira was handed a new contract. He had successfully steered his team away from the relegation zone, but since the summer departure of Matheus Cunha, his only victories have been in cup competitions.

Saturday’s loss leaves Wolves eight points adrift of Premier League safety. Their only points this season have come from 1-1 draws at Tottenham and against Brighton at home, conceding late equalisers in both games, reports the Mirror.
Pereira said he would hold talks with his players to get to the bottom of their latest defeat but has now been let go.
The now former Wolves boss called Saturday’s result the “worst” performance he has seen from his team.
“It was the worst. In my opinion,” he said. “Today I felt my team physically were not in condition, not at the level to face Fulham.
“Tactically with some mistakes, technically we were not there at the best level, we lost a lot of passes.
“We conceded the first goal but after the red card it was very difficult. We need to have a conversation to understand what happened today.
“I cannot come here to have answers for everyone. I must talk to my players to understand what the problem was today.
“I can say to you I am doing my best and working hard. I cannot control time or the confidence the club has. But me and my staff are trying everything to help the team to perform and get results.”
