EFL aspect supply Henrik Meister replace after star collapsed throughout match with no one close to
John Eustace has confirmed that Henrik Meister “seems okay” and will be following concussion protocols after being stretchered off during the loss to Birmingham City.
The Danish forward collapsed on the pitch with no one around him early in the second half, requiring extensive medical attention before being removed from the field with his neck in a brace. Eustace admitted he didn’t witness what caused the injury but has since spoken to Meister, who is now set to miss the next 10 days of action.
“To lose him just after half-time was tough,” he commented. “It was difficult, but he’s OK now. He’s having concussion protocols. We’ll just have to see how he is. I’ve been speaking to him and he seems okay.”

Meister’s injury occurred after the Blues had equalised prior to half-time, with Carlos Vicente nullifying Bobby Clark’s well-executed opener.
Paik Seung-Ho then nodded home from a corner to give the Blues the lead, and the visitors made two superb blocks late in the game to deny Sam Szmodics and Carlton Morris an equaliser, reports Derbyshire Live.
However, Derby have struggled to maintain clean sheets this season, and Eustace acknowledged that their defensive performance against the Blues was problematic.
“I am obviously disappointed to lose,” he stated. “I thought we were excellent in large parts of the game. We were up against a really competitive team and I thought the new lads who came in today were excellent.
“They are adapting and adjusting, to the league, but I am really disappointed in the two goals that we conceded. We need to be better. We were caught in possession and then we don’t defend the far post.
“We need to be better there. And then the second goal has come from a long goal kick. It’s gone straight between our two centre-backs who need to be bigger and better at defending that. They then obviously get a set-piece, and again, we need to be stronger.”
