Putin claimed that Russia supplies Kyrgyzstan with electricity and that Russian companies are actively participating in the design and development of hydroelectric power plants on rivers in the Central Asian country.

Mad Vlad said: “Rosatom is implementing a large-scale program to reclaim uranium mining sites in Kyrgyzstan. The possibility of constructing the republic’s first nuclear power plant using advanced Russian technologies – small modular reactors – is being explored.

“These technologies, I emphasize, meet the most stringent safety and environmental protection requirements.”

Putin also reiterated plans to construct a large solar power plant in the region of Issyk-Kul. The president also mentioned the proposal of building a modern thermal power plant in northern Kyrgyzstan.

What’s the latest with the Ukraine-Russia war?

Ukraine has agreed to the terms of a peace deal with US officials, Donald Trump’s administration has said.

Lt Col Jeffrey Tolbert said: “Late Monday and throughout Tuesday, Secretary Driscoll and team have been in talks with the Russian delegation to secure a lasting peace in Ukraine.

“The discussions are going well and we remain optimistic. Secretary Driscoll is closely aligned with the White House and wider US interagency as these talks continue.”

Ukraine’s national security adviser Rustem Umerov said Ukraine had “reached a common understanding” with the US officials.
