Donald Trump well being replace as Karoline Leavitt offers excuse for thriller bandages
Trump has previously covered the bruising on his hand up with makeup concealer – but in recent weeks he’s been spotted with sticking plasters over the purple discolouration on his hand
Donald Trump’s press secretary gave an update on the President’s health – and a remarkable explanation about why he’s suddenly wearing plasters and bandages on his hands. Observers have spotted dark bruises on Trump’s right hand in recent months.
He usually attempts to cover the bruising with a light-coloured makeup concealer – which can often be seen on camera matching poorly with his own skin tone. But in recent weeks he’s been spotted with sticking plasters over the bruises – leading to concerns over his health. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about the bruising at a press conference today – and gave an eyebrow raising excuse for the bandages.
“The president is literally constantly shaking hands,” she said. “The Oval Office is like Grand Central terminal. He is meeting with more people than any of you know about on a daily basis.”
She went on: “He’s also on a daily aspirin regimen which is something his physical examinations have said in the past can contribute to that bruising that you see.”
Leavitt was also asked to clarify when Trump took the three cognitive tests he claims to have “aced”. She said she did not have the dates to hand, but would return with an answer at a later time.
Trump went on a lengthy Truth Social rant earlier this week, seemingly in response to The New York Times’ reports that Trump, 79 is slowing down a bit. After apparently confirming that he’d taken another “Cognitive Examination” – this time “in front of large numbers of doctors and experts, most of whom I do not know” – which he “ACED” – he turned his fire against the newspaper.
“Despite all of this, the time and work involved, The New York Times, and some others, like to pretend that I am “slowing up,” am maybe not as sharp as I once was, or am in poor physical health, knowing that it is not true, and knowing that I work very hard, probably harder than I have ever worked before,” he wrote.
“I will know when I am “slowing up,” but it’s not now! After all of the work I have done with Medical Exams, Cognitive Exams, and everything else, I actually believe it’s seditious, perhaps even treasonous, for The New York Times, and others, to consistently do FAKE reports in order to libel and demean “THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”
“They are true Enemies of the People, and we should do something about it. They have inaccurately reported on all of my Election Results and, in fact, were forced to apologise on much of what they wrote.” The New York Times has not apologised for its coverage of Donald Trump. Trump has made this claim before, and the Times issued a statement saying it was “false”.
Trump went on: “The best thing that could happen to this Country would be if The New York Times would cease publication because they are a horrible, biased, and untruthful “source” of information.” Obviously Trump having a pop at the media is nothing new. However his use of “treason” and “sedition” is a little unnerving, given his recent suggestion that those crimes are worthy of the death penalty.
