I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Finalist Tom Read Wilson has landed a brand new role on ITV‘s This Morning just days after leaving the jungle.

The TV personality, 39, was reportedly headhunted by ITV bosses shortly after finishing as runner-up behind new King of the Jungle AngryGinge.

Over the years, This Morning has snapped up popular I’m A Celeb contestants soon after the finale – and while AngryGinge is tipped to be flooded with lucrative TV deals, it’s Tom who has become the first of this year’s finalists to bag a major gig.

Tom was invited onto the sofa on Thursday to appear as the show’s new agony uncle, helping viewers with their dilemmas in the run-up to Christmas

The opportunity came after he was interviewed about his jungle journey by hosts Cat Deeley, 49, and Ben Shephard, 51.

During the chat, Ben told him: ‘One of the things I’ve loved as well, Tom, is in the camp, you certainly became a sort of a go-to Agony Uncle for quite a lot of your campmates.’

The TV presenter, 39, was reportedly headhunted by ITV bosses shortly after finishing as runner-up behind new King of the Jungle AngryGinge (L-R Tom, AngryGinge, and Shona McGarty)

Tom replied: ‘Well, I think Shona taught me hugely … be vulnerable, because we all are so vulnerable anywhere here.

‘And particularly where Shona was concerned, I think we sort of followed one another’s spiky graph.’

Speaking about his role on Celebs Go Dating, he added: ‘It is, I suppose, sort of my role too. I try to be a shoulder and a bosom if I can. And so it was nice to occupy that space in the jungle.’

Later in the programme, a viewer named Dario asked: ‘Should I tell my colleague I fancy her at the office Christmas party?’

Tom advised that he should ‘sow the seeds’ beforehand rather than confessing after a few drinks, so she knows he’s sincere.

He said: Imagine what a delicious evening it could be. If you sow the seeds before, then it can be the most sumptuous evening. You don’t want it to be an in vino veritas (in wine there is truth) affair.

‘But you’re safer (at the office party) than you imagine you would be. Everyone is in clusters.’

Impressed with his advice, Cat and Ben asked whether he would like to return to the show, and Tom replied: ‘I would absolutely love to.’

Fans will remember Tom was a late arrival in this year’s camp, joining as a Chief Explorer alongside Vogue Williams. He quickly won over viewers and made it all the way to the final two.

He ultimately finished second to YouTuber AngryGinge, 24, with Shona McGarty, 34, coming third.

The finale racked up a staggering 13 million votes, the highest figure in at least a decade.

Speaking on ITV2’s Unpacked with Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers, Tom reflected: ‘It’s a really truncated time in one way, by number of days.

‘But if you tot up the waking hours, it’s probably more time than you’ve spent with your nearest and dearest in the last year.

He added: ‘We get so much exposure to one another and get to know each other so intimately.

‘I was surprised how intimately. And I was surprised by the things I was saying. I’ve always regarded myself as a private person, but I was disbosoming about everything.’

Online, viewers shared their disappointment that Tom didn’t win. One wrote: ‘Aw no way. I definitely think that Tom should have won but there ya go!’

Another added: ‘#ImACeleb Tom should’ve won. It wasn’t fair.

‘The Ginge fellah has already got a massive following on tick tock and they would’ve voted for him. Tom, what a magnificent human being.’

‘Well I’m definitely not watching next years, undeserving winner Ginge, should have been Aitch, Tom or Shona, not some moaning streamer’, a third commented.

A fourth chimed in: ‘Have to admit I’m disappointed Tom didn’t win. #ImACeleb’
