Jarrell Miller endured an unforgettable moment on the Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson undercard when the heavyweight fighter had his hairpiece knocked clean off during the bout.

The 37-year-old’s clash with Kingsley Ibeh marked his return to action following his contentious stalemate with Andy Ruiz Jr back in August 2024. Fight fans are typically captivated when watching two heavyweight giants exchange blows within the ropes.

However, it wasn’t the combat that grabbed viewers’ attention. The main talking point emerged in round two when Ibeh’s punches dislodged his opponent’s hairpiece – with the wig sliding from the front and dangling backwards.

The toupee kept swaying about for the remainder of the round, leaving spectators gobsmacked.

DAZN’s Chris Mannix was left speechless, declaring: “I’ve never seen anything like it in boxing.”, reports the Mirror.

Miller took the awkward incident in good humour, chuckling at the rather mortifying episode.

When the round concluded, the wig drooped from the fighter’s head, revealing his bald scalp beneath. The 37 year old dramatically hurled his hairpiece into the audience – prompting thunderous applause.

The remarkable mid-bout incident appeared not to rattle Miller whatsoever as he secured victory by split decision (94-96, 97-93, 97-93).

“So, it’s kinda funny, right. I get to my mama’s house, and she had some shampoo bottles under her table, and I shampooed it.That s*** was like ammonia and bleach. I nearly lost my hair like two days ago, so I called my manager: ‘Let me slap that s*** on my on head real quick.’ And [Ibeh] slapped that s*** off!” Miller shared after the fight.

“But like I said, it’s funny, man. Listen, I’m a comedian. You’ve got to make fun of yourself. You can’t take life too seriously sometimes, you’ve got to roll with the punches.”

Miller’s wig was later seen ringside next to heavyweight champ Fabio Wardley. Clearly elated with his first victory in almost three years, Miller danced out of the ring donning a hat.

As expected, the shocking moment quickly became a sensation on social media. Fans were swift to voice their reactions, with one spectator remarking: “His hair has literally just come off, what have I just seen?”.

Another chimed in: “Genuinely a boxing record, there’s no way this has ever happened before,” while another user commented: “His hair got hit off by Ibeh during the fight, that’s genuinely incredible.”
