A former Royal Protection Officer has revealed what it was truly like working for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor during his time as a senior royal. Throughout the past month, the father-of-two has found himself thrust back into the spotlight following the publication of additional Epstein files by the Department of Justice.

The ex-royal’s association with the American paedophile came under scrutiny once more as fresh photographs and confidential documents emerged, indicating he may have disclosed sensitive trade intelligence.

British police forces are now collaborating to examine potential offences disclosed in these papers, including accusations of misconduct against Andrew. On Wednesday afternoon (February 18), LBC host Tom Swarbrick invited Paul Page onto the programme to share his experiences of working alongside Andrew during his residence at Royal Lodge.

Reflecting on his period at the royal residence, he remembered: “He comes out, and it’s a really hot day, that’s why I remember this day because it’s really hot and I just wanted to sit down and mind my own business. Now I’m having to stand to attention and salute this individual, this idiot.

“And he’s come out with his PPO, and the PPO’s carrying a golf bag. He proceeds to plot up, look down the late – this is [the former] Prince Andrew now – and he starts whacking these golf balls down towards the lake.”, reports the Express.

He continued: “The next thing I see is the protection officer walking up and picking them all up and rolling them back to him. And I remember thinking, ‘We’re not ball boys, ‘ this is a highly trained police officer having to roll golf balls back to this idiot.

“But then what happened was, and I’ve said this before, it was really hot in the middle of June, and one of the footmen came out with a drink and a towel over his arm, gave Andrew the drink, and then he wiped his face with it. What are you wiping your face for if you’re not sweating?”.

This follows the scandal-hit royal’s participation in a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis, during which he insisted he was unable to perspire due to an adrenaline overdose suffered during the Falklands War.

This directly contradicted allegations made by Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, who maintained he was “profusely sweating” when they allegedly danced together at Tramp nightclub in London.

She alleged she danced with the former Duke before returning to Ghislaine Maxwell’s residence on the evening of March 10, 2001. It was at that location where the infamous photograph of the late Queen’s favourite son, with his arm around the 17 year old Virginia, was captured, as Ghislaine looked on.

As the atmosphere becomes increasingly strained at Sandringham Palace, a report suggests that Andrew is “almost 100% set” to depart from Britain. An anonymous source confided to Radar Online that the ex-prince feels “the climate in Britain has become untenable”.

They further stated: “There is serious talk that Andrew is almost 100% set to leave the UK if this escalates further.”
