Coleen Rooney is savouring another birthday bash a week after celebrating her 40th — with a day of festivities at the Grand National alongside husband Wayne.

The fashion designer, television personality and spouse of former footballer Wayne, turned up at Aintree Racecourse with her other half in her signature stylish fashion. She donned a flowing cream gown, while Wayne looked sharp in a suit. It seems no cost has been cut and an insider at the venue reveals to The Mirror: “Coleen and Wayne have a special box in the Princess Royal Stand, the door is being guarded by two waitresses with security appearing on the balcony.

“Inside the box there are tables with three big clear balloons with ‘Coleen x’ printed across them. Her return to Aintree has certainly had a shroud of secrecy around it. She eluded paps as she snuck into the racecourse. In an attempt to ensure she has privacy, her box in the Princess royal stand is unnamed – unliked the others.”

The pair will spend the afternoon alongside thousands of others witnessing Britain’s most renowned and prestigious jumps race of the year.

“Everyone in the stand below is unaware that Coleen has made her return to Aintree. She even tried to throw fans off the scent last night, as she posted pictures from her recent ski holiday – implying she was still away.”

Coleen and Wayne first met as teenagers and tied the knot in 2008, and while they’ve experienced their fair share of turbulence, their marriage remains solid after weathering several of the former Manchester United striker’s well-documented indiscretions, reports the Mirror.

Spectators at Aintree witnessed the couple appearing ‘content and relaxed’ as they enjoyed the racing together.

Coleen has traditionally attended alongside her female companions, but she departed from custom this year by accompanying her spouse. Last week Wayne commemorated her milestone birthday with throwback snaps spanning several decades, featuring their four lads Kai, 16, Klay, 12, Kit, 10, and eight year old Cass in a photo montage he posted on Instagram.

This marks another festivity for Coleen following her 40th birthday, and in the run-up to the landmark occasion she had pledged to mark it with multiple celebrations.

Last week Coleen threw a lavish bash at her home on Good Friday, welcoming a string of famous faces including Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Darren Fletcher. Alongside Coleen’s WAG mates, Annie Kilner and Abbey Clancy were there, plus Phil Jones and his partner Kaya Hall, Leanne Brown and Tanya and Phil Bardsley.

Last month she revealed to OK! Magazine: “I love birthdays and a celebration. I have decided to enjoy a couple of different celebrations with family and friends over the year and with my birthday falling over Easter weekend, some friends are away so any opportunity to extend the celebrations!” Coleen is no stranger to the races, and in her younger years, she would annually attend Aintree during the Grand National festival.

Her frequent appearances earned her the title of Queen of Aintree long before she was dubbed Queen of the Jungle following her stint on I’m A Celebrity.

She also had the honour of presenting the best-dressed racegoer award for several consecutive years from 2006 onwards on Ladies’ Day.

However, she hasn’t been seen at the races as frequently in recent years, so fans will be thrilled to see her back at the course for a special birthday outing.

Other celebrities have already made appearances at the Grand National festival this week, including stars from Coronation Street and Emmerdale, as well as former footballers like Michael Owen and Ian Rush.

Despite celebrating numerous birthdays, it’s been a busy start to the year for Coleen professionally too.

In March, she launched her Primark clothing collection with a party in Mayfair, London. Guests included TOWIE star Jess Wright, presenter Ashley James, TV personality Scarlett Moffatt, ex-model Danielle Lloyd, and Love Island contestant Gabby Allen.

She also unveiled a new Applied Nutrition product with an event in February, which featured lunch and pilates sessions with friends including Lisa Carrick, wife of Manchester United manager Michael, Tanya Bardsley, Georgina Cleverly, and expectant Annie Kilner, wife of Kyle Walker.

It’s believed that she, Wayne and their four sons are being filmed for a new reality TV series, set to be released later in the year.
