Officers looking to speak with am man in newly released CCTV footage following an alleged ‘wine, dine, stay and dash’ last month.
The incident saw a group, three adults and four children, enjoy a lavish meal and stay at a prestigious Yorkshire hotel before departing without settling their account.
The visit took place at Crathorne Hall Hotel in Yarm on May 11, 2026. The group of three adults and four children ran up a substantial bar and room service tab.
North Yorkshire Police revealed the payment card used to reserve and settle the accommodation had insufficient funds, resulting in a significant outstanding debt, reports Yorkshire Live.
Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they are keen to speak with regarding the incident.
In a statement, the force said: “We have released a CCTV still of a man we would like to speak to after a fraud at a North Yorkshire hotel.
“A man booked two hotel rooms and attended the Crathorne Hall Hotel on May 11, 2026 with two other adults and four children. They incurred a large bar and room service bill.
“When asked to pay, the group left the hotel without doing so. The card used to book and pay for the rooms had insufficient funds, leaving a large unpaid bill.
“This man pictured on CCTV may have important information that could assist our investigation.
