A dog walker who used her breakup as the motivation for the ultimate ‘revenge body glow-up’ has bagged herself a modelling contract after shedding four stone.
Lauren Latimer says she used her breakup as motivation to ‘come back better’ and lose weight after breaking up with her boyfriend of 16 months in February. The 25-year-old has shed four stone, slimming down from a dress size 12 to a slinky size four, thanks to a combination of a calorie deficit and walking more than 20,000 steps per day.
Lauren, who tipped the scales at 12st at her heaviest, now weighs just 7st 6lbs, with unbelievable photos showing the striking difference in her appearance in the space of just six months.
At 5ft 7in, Lauren says her new petite frame has bagged her a modelling deal – and she has come a long way from the days when she used to be camera shy and avoid taking photos.
Self-employed Lauren says the biggest change has been in her face and she constantly receives comments online accusing her of having jaw and lip filler.
But Lauren says she is all natural and is lucky to have a naturally ‘snatched’ face. Now preparing to walk down a catwalk in front of 300 people, Lauren says her breakup is the ‘best thing’ that ever happened to her.
And while her inbox is flooded with messages from men online, Lauren says she’s too busy focusing on herself and her career to reply.
Lauren, from Hartlepool, County Durham, said: “The breakup 100% spurred me on to lose weight and be healthier. I was neglecting myself unfortunately when I was with him – we would go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“I wasn’t mindful of the things I was eating and I was going to bed and not looking after my skincare. Before you know it, you do just put weight on very quickly.
“I would definitely say that every girl has in her head ‘I’m going to come back bigger and better’ after a break-up. If you make yourself look better, it is a bit of revenge.
“Not in a nasty way, but definitely in the way of ‘you’re not going to recognise me again’. I went through a little bit of a heartbreak glow-up.
“My friends tell me I’m absolutely tiny now, but I look amazing for it – everyone is a bit shocked.”
Following her stunning transformation, Lauren has gained confidence – and a new modelling career.
Lauren said: “I shared a video on TikTok collaborating with a brand and a modelling agency reached out to me. They were really interested in me. I went into the studios and they said they think I have a massive amount of potential.
“I signed a contract with them and I’ve done a shoot for a clothing brand and have one for a jewellery company coming up.
“I’ve also got a potential catwalk in front of 300 people in the next couple of weeks. It all seems to be happening at the minute. I feel so much more empowered and so much more confident [now that I’ve lost weight].
“There were times where I wouldn’t want to get a photo – I would say to people ‘don’t get me in’, I hated my side profile.
“I hated how I looked. There were a lot of things I didn’t like about myself but you can’t get me out of the camera now.
“Hopefully one day I’m on a billboard. I’m hoping that one day that’s something where the modelling takes me.”
One of the biggest transformations from her weight loss has been in Lauren’s face – and she says she constantly receives comments online accusing her of having filler in her face.
Lauren said: “For me when I was at my heaviest, the weight seemed to go to my face more. It was very, very puffy.
“There are a lot of people that say ‘you’ve definitely had chin filler, jaw filler, you’ve definitely had your nose done’. If you were to see me in real life, you’d see that I’ve had nothing done.
“I haven’t had any filler in my face, I’m completely natural. When I lose weight it comes off my nose, my cheeks, my chin.
“I have really high-definition cheekbones and it does just change your face.
“If people want to comment that [I’ve had filler] then that’s fine – it’s a compliment to me because it means it looks like I’ve had something done when I haven’t.”
Now, Lauren believes her breakup is the ‘best thing’ that could have happened to her.
Lauren said: “It’s been five months but it’s the best thing that ever happened to me. I’ve now been signed with a modelling agency, I’ve got my own place, I’m really looking after my skin and my nutrition.
“I’ve lost all the weight and if the breakup hadn’t happened then it wouldn’t have pushed me to do what I’m doing now, so I’m so glad that it did [happen].”
Newly single Lauren says she is inundated with messages from guys on social media – but she’s too busy focusing on herself to reply.
Lauren said: “I haven’t been dating, I do get messages from guys on social media but the truth is, I don’t answer anyone.
“I’m so committed to myself, my career, focusing on me. I don’t have the time for entertaining men. I’m just investing into myself at the minute, I don’t think I could keep up with a relationship.”
Lauren is urging other women at their start of their weight loss journey to ‘stay consistent’.
Lauren said: “Don’t rush it – the truth is consistency is key. I always say you might have motivation one day but the next day you might not have it.
“Dedication is completely different – if you have dedication and you’re willing to stick to something.
“If you’re willing to stick to your nutrition and stick to going to the gym, even when you’re not seeing a difference.
“If you keep pushing yourself and if you keep going for it, you will see changes eventually but it doesn’t happen overnight.”
