O2 has announced it is extending its USA roaming benefit for eligible customers until the end of the World Cup, giving England fans one less thing to worry about while following the Three Lions overseas.

The mobile network revealed the move after England secured a place in the quarter-finals, with the new offer running until midnight (PT) on July 20. The temporary extension means eligible pay monthly Classic Plan customers travelling in the United States can use their mobile data without paying roaming charges, potentially saving £7 a day on the usual cost of an O2 Travel Bolt On.

The offer is already included for Volt customers and those on O2’s Plus Plan or Ultimate Plan, but Classic Plan customers can now benefit too by activating an O2 Travel Bolt On or purchasing a qualifying data bolt-on through their MyO2 account. O2 will then automatically credit back the cost for travel between July 6 and July 20, 2026.

The move builds on O2’s position as the only major UK mobile network to include EU roaming as standard across all plans, with customers able to use up to 25GB of data in Europe at no extra cost.

Lutz Schüler, CEO of Virgin Media O2, said: “Whether travelling in Europe or heading across the Pond, we’re now giving our customers one less thing to worry about this summer by crediting back roaming charges in the USA for the remainder of the tournament.

“From cheering their team on from the stands or sharing the excitement with friends and family back home, our customers can focus on the scoreline, not roaming charges, with the freedom, connectivity and confidence to make every moment count.”

Fans staying in the UK can also benefit during the tournament. Through Priority from O2, customers can claim a free hot drink from Greggs the morning after England matches.

The offer is available in Greggs stores nationwide between 8am and 11am, giving supporters a caffeine boost after late nights spent watching the action in different time zones.
