The giveaway begins today (July 20), and will run until September 30 – or until the whole £1million pot has been emptied
Brit beer lovers can enjoy a pint – or two – for free as the summer holidays begin for many. Boozers can bag two free pints at BrewDog pubs from today (20 July) as the brewery unlocks a massive £1million bar tab.
The giveaway will run until September 30 – or until the entire pot has been emptied. Customers can redeem two free pints per person by signing up to BrewDog’s Treats loyalty scheme.
The offer was originally launched last month with the promise that the free drinks would be unlocked if England, Scotland or the USA reached the FIFA World Cup final.
Despite none of the three making the showpiece – with England’s campaign ending in a semi-final defeat to Argentina – BrewDog has decided to honour the promotion anyway.
To claim the free beers, customers need to sign up to BrewDog Treats and show their Treats QR code at participating BrewDog pubs.
Existing Treats members will automatically find the offer added to their digital wallet, while new customers can sign up online before visiting a participating venue.
The free pints are available on a first come, first served basis while the £1million tab lasts, with participating pubs also subject to stock availability.
Irwin Simon, chairman and chief executive of BrewDog owner Tilray Brands, said: “The greatest moments in sport are not defined only by the scoreline or the team that lifts the trophy; they are defined by the people who come together to share them.
“Football has an extraordinary way of filling pubs, sparking conversation and turning every match into a shared moment.
“The £1million bar tab is our way of keeping that energy alive.”
The giveaway comes just months after Tilray Brands bought BrewDog out of administration in a £33million deal, saying it has since invested £50million into the business.
Meanwhile, BrewDog co-founder James Watt has submitted an offer to buy back parts of the company through his new drinks venture, Second Bes
