After the World Cup final on July 19, Trump was talking to reporters but in the background a mystery bloke bearing an uncanny resemblance to the US president appeared.
The unknown man even had the same rotundness as The Don and was bent forward as if he couldn’t support the weight of his own massive, orange head.
The clip has been circulating across social media, which has reignited speculation around the persistent conspiracy theory that the commander-in-chief uses a body double.
Internet detectives believe they have now identified Trump’s alleged mystery lookalike, though some remain sceptical.
The 80 year old has finally been relieved of his hosting responsibilities now that the 2026 World Cup has concluded, and he believes his country has done a brilliant job of entertaining football supporters.
While discussing the tournament’s success with journalists following Spain’s victory over Argentina on Sunday (19 July), Trump employed a peculiar choice of words to describe the experience.
“I thought it was incredible,” he said. “It was four-times greater than any FIFA ever held. It’s probably about five times, actually, they’re telling me today.”
Comedian Jon Stewart couldn’t help but mock the president during Monday’s instalment of The Daily Show and chuckled alongside viewers as they watched footage of his ‘perceptive post-match analysis’.
The 63-year-old television personality then jokingly questioned: “What’s a FIFA? How do you hold a FIFA, how can our FIFA be ‘four-times greater’ than any other FIFA?”.
Trump’s presence at the World Cup final provided Stewart with ample content for the latest edition of The Daily Show, as he also ridiculed him for attempting to force his way amongst Spanish players as they celebrated their triumph.
One person said in a post on X : “Oh no! There’s two of them.”
Another wrote: “Trump needs a body double so one version can hog the World Cup spotlight while the other practices golf swings and ‘You’re fired’ faces for the cameras. Man’s ego requires backup singers now.”
Others provided an explanation for why the fella and Trump look like two peas in a pod – as they pointed out that it was his father-in-law, Viktor Knavs.
One person wrote: “OK, OK, funny stuff. But the ‘body double’ is Melania’s father. DJT’s father-in-law is often invited to fun stuff.”
