A Manchester United star has shacked up with a stunning model after he split with his ex-wife after allegedly growing sick of her spiritual lifestyle.
Matthijs de Ligt spent the back end of last season on the treatment table – but he had the support of stunning Dutch model Amber Yuusef. Earlier this summer, De Ligt and Amber were spotted smooching as they enjoyed some summer sun in Ibiza.
Images appeared on social media, with De Ligt, who is celebrating his 27th birthday on Wednesday, addressing the romance: “Normally I never feel the need to respond, but I do this time. “In this day and age, we know that anything can be faked.

“And that is the case with this screenshot as well. Amber and I are getting to know each other better, and we would like to do that in privacy.”
The news comes just under 12 months after De Ligt parted ways with his gorgeous wife AnneKee Molenaar. De Ligt and AnneKee tied the knot in 2024 during an intimate ceremony.
According to reports at the time, the pair had planned to mark their wedding properly last summer with a celebration in Italy surrounded by loved ones. However, according to Dutch publication DenD, the festivities were called off at the eleventh hour.
They claimed that De Ligt has flown to Barbados without AnneKee, 26, following a solitary week in Ibiza. A source close to the pair revealed that their union has reached its end.
“Earlier, there was talk about ‘some time for themselves’ and going on vacation separately, but it is now reportedly definitely over,” DenD reported, via Realityfbi. “Matthijs is said to have left for Ibiza alone this week and was in Barbados for this.”
According to Realityfbi, De Ligt had become increasingly frustrated by his wife’s spiritual approach to life. “Apparently, Matthijs can no longer handle Annekee’s exaggerated ‘spiriwiri-content’.”
At the time of their reported split, the model’s Instagram account shows recent posts including one featuring an alien spaceship emoji in the caption, along with snaps of her browsing for gemstones and crystals, perusing a tarot fortune-telling book and donning a top emblazoned with a cannabis leaf.
She also runs her own “Alchemia” page and venture. “Alchemia” translates as the Italian and Polish term for alchemy, the medieval chemical pursuit centred on transforming ordinary metals into gold and uncovering the elixir of eternal life.
The couple initially crossed paths in Amsterdam while the 6ft 2in defender was establishing himself at Ajax, though he didn’t pop the question until 2023.
They arranged their nuptials around the Champions League final, forcing the defender to depart his wedding celebration that evening to link up with the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024.
“It’s actually funny because the way the planning for our civil wedding went is a reflection of our relationship in general,” AnneKee previously quipped to the Dutch edition of Vogue.
“At first, we planned to get married at the end of May, on our anniversary, but then it looked like Matthijs would make it to the Champions League final with Bayern Munich. So, we had to reschedule everything at the last moment.”
