Eduardo Alvarez, from Florida, in the US, captured the moment he stepped outside onto the porch of his home only to find his dog Summer cornered by a knife-wielding crab
Insane footage captures the moment a knife-wielding crab turns up at a bloke’s house and threatens his dog.
Eduardo Alvarez shared a video of the weird encounter at his home in Florida, US on Instagram. The short clip shows Eduardo’s pet dog Summer having a little sniff at the crab, before leaping back when the little critter showed its blade.
The crustacean – who may or may not be a member of the cartel – danced to and fro, as if sizing up the hound and its owner. After a few moments of shimmying, El Crabbo was hoisted up by Eduardo and dumped into the garden.
Throughout the video, the animal remained clutching its blade – refusing to drop the weapon even when being swung through the air.
“Dude, are you f*****g kidding me?” said Eduardo as he lifted the deadly decapod from his door. The video was captioned: “Florida is getting out of hand.”
“Summer, I don’t recommend messing with this,” he warned his pooch. “This is like a gangster-a** crab.” The viral clip has been watched thousands of times on Instagram, with viewers sharing their thoughts about the dramatic moment.
“Yeah, we grow them mean in Florida,” said one person, while another wrote: “We got crabs wielding weapons before GTA 6.” Some questioned the authenticity of the video. A person commented: “Did he manage to take the knife? I thought it was stuck on his claw.”
A similar video from 2016 appearing to show a crab with a knife was later proven to be a hoax. At the time, Jack Cover from the National Aquarium in Baltimore told The Washington Post: “It’s a hoax,” and that the crab is “absolutely distressed.”
Cover said that there was nothing strange about what the beast was doing if it was not clutching a knife.
