UK product recalls affect selected food, drinks and toys, with alerts over Salmonella, Listeria, undeclared mustard and other safety risks as you should check affected batches
Several major retailers have recently issued urgent product recalls that shoppers need to be aware of. Whether it’s a case of contaminated food, potential damage, or an unsafe product, it’s crucial for customers to heed these warnings to avoid any future issues.
The shops issuing these recalls include Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Smyths. If you’ve bought any of the products in question, it’s strongly recommended to stop using them immediately.
Simply return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Waitrose Essential Unsweetened Oat Drink
Waitrose is recalling its Essential Unsweetened Oat Drink due to the risk of microbiological contamination and spoilage, following a temperature control failure which could make these products unsafe to consume.
Best before: Dates between August 14 and October 29, 2026. This recall applies to products purchased between September 2 and September 21, 2026.
If you have bought the above product, “do not eat it”. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.
Alyan Dubai Style Chocolate
World of Sweets has recalled a selection of Dubai style chocolates sold across England and Northern Ireland after Salmonella was found in the products.
Alyan Dubai Style Chocolate Truffles 120g. Product code: 319456.
Alyan Dubai Style Crunchy Knafeh and Pistachio Milk Chocolate 100g. Product code: 318591.
Do not consume the affected products. If you’ve bought the product directly from World of Sweets, get in touch with their customer service team and provide your order number and the quantity of affected units you have.
You might be asked to safely dispose of the product and provide proof of disposal, including the physical product. Alternatively, World of Sweets can organise for the affected product to be collected from your location.
Once the collection is completed and the goods are returned, the company will process your refund. If you’ve purchased the product from a different retailer, contact them directly and provide proof of purchase.
They will guide you on the appropriate next steps.
Waitrose Essential Pitted Black Olives 120g
Waitrose has issued a recall for its Essential Pitted Black Olives after Listeria monocytogenes was found in the product.
Use by dates: September 13, September 18 and September 27, 2026.
If you’ve purchased the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to your nearest Waitrose store, where a full refund will be given.

Inspired to Cook by Sainsbury’s Pitted Black Olives 120g
Sainsbury’s has recalled its Inspired to Cook Pitted Black Olives after Listeria monocytogenes was detected in the product.
Use by dates: September 6, September 7 and September 10, 2026.
If you’ve bought the aforementioned product, please refrain from consuming it. Instead, take it back to your nearest Sainsbury’s store for a full refund.

Lucky Saint 0.5% Hazy IPA 4x330ml cans
Lucky Saint is issuing a recall of its Hazy IPA products as some cans may become over-pressurised and burst unexpectedly. This only affects stock bought in Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores.
Best Before date: August 13, 2027.
Production time stamp: Only between 20:50pm and 22:30. The best-before date and time stamp can be located at the bottom of each can.
If you’ve purchased Lucky Saint Hazy IPA 330ml, do not consume or open it. Instead, show proof of purchase at the store for a full refund and dispose of the product safely.
Please do not return cans to this store. To safely discard the product, handle the cans as minimally as possible, place them carefully upright in a sealed bag, and dispose of them with your household rubbish.
Smyths Toys Wooden Cornhole Board with Bean Bags
This product poses a health risk as the sand inside the bags may be contaminated with a small amount of asbestos. The product has been pulled from sale and recalled from customers by Smyths Toys.
Owners are strongly advised to stop using the product immediately. If the item is intact, secure it in a heavy-duty plastic bag, seal it with double tape, label it clearly and store it in a safe place out of children’s reach.
Should the item be damaged and the filling exposed, clean any areas where the product was used with damp cloths to prevent dust from being stirred up. Don protective gloves and a mask.
Double bag the filling, product, gloves, mask and cloths. Ensure children and others are kept away from areas where the sand has been used until the area has been thoroughly cleaned.
Return the product to your nearest Smyths Toys store for a complete refund. A receipt is not required. If you’re unable to return the product to your nearest Smyths Toys store, get in touch with your local authority or check their website for advice on safely disposing of asbestos in your area.
Tesco Finest Caesar and Smoked Bacon Coleslaw 270g
Tesco is issuing a recall for its Tesco Finest Caesar and Smoked Bacon Coleslaw, as some packs may mistakenly contain Tesco Finest Four Cheese Potato Salad. The incorrect product contains mustard, which is not declared on the label.
Use by: September 4, 2026.
