Gunman, 63, goes on rampage, killing his two sons, sister and his spouse at three completely different areas

A man is believed to have killed his two sons, sister and wife in a murderous rampage at three different locations in Germany before turning the gun on himself.

It is unclear when the 63-year-old went on his alleged killing spree, but the murders were discovered on Tuesday when a caregiver found the body of one of his victims in the city of Reutling.

The gunman is believed to have first shot his two sons, aged 27 and 29, in the St Johann municipality before pulling the trigger on his sister, 60, in her apartment in Reutling, according to local media.

He then shot his wife, 57, at their home in the town of Pfullingen before turning the gun on himself.

His wife is not believed to be the biological mother of his two sons.

Police were notified on Tuesday after receiving reports that the body of a woman had been found.

Cops, who suspected her brother, rushed to his home in Pfullingen where they discovered his and his wife’s bodies with gunshot wounds and a firearm next to them.

The man’s two sons were subsequently found in his business premises in the St Johann municipality.

The 63-year-old was a hunter, according to local media, but whether he legally possessed the weapon found next to him remains to be determined.

Detectives said there is no indication of a third party being involved and the investigation is ongoing.

Local police told German news outlet Bild: ‘So far, it’s not even clear when the four relatives were killed . We are still at the very beginning of the investigation.’

The tragedy comes nearly three months after a mother and her two daughters aged six and eight were found dead in a septic tank in a suspected murder-suicide.

The trio were found in the sewage tank after the children’s father reported them missing on August 31 in the small town of Helenów Pierwszy, Konin County, in west-central Poland.

He told emergency services there were ‘disturbing’ signs that they had fallen into the septic tank.

A rescue operation was launched with four fire units and a diving team but before they arrived a woman and one child had already been pulled out by two men, with the other child remaining in the tank.

The mother, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the children were rushed to hospital where they died.

The mother-of-two slit her throat and intended to drown her daughters, according to Fakt sources aware of the investigation.

They also claim the woman had previously received psychiatric treatment and left a suicide note, which was found in the house.

One neighbour claimed the deaths took place when the father went to the pharmacy to pick up some medicine.
