Met Office points ‘hazard to life’ amber climate warning spanning 15 areas – full checklist
Sections of the UK are bracing for an amber weather warning as torrential rain is forecast from late Sunday through to late Monday.
The Met Office has cautioned that properties and businesses face flooding risks, while rail and bus services may experience disruptions and power outages could strike.
Central and south Wales are the regions under the weather alert, reports the Mirror. The Met Office stated: “20-40 mm of rain is likely to fall quite widely across the wider region, but 60-80 mm is likely to accumulate over some windward-facing high ground in south Wales and perhaps nearer 100-120 mm in a few places.”

Meanwhile, the Met Office has released a raft of new weather warnings for Saturday, affecting numerous regions across the UK. The yellow warning of rain, which is likely to cause travel disruption, will come into force at 6am on Saturday.
The warning is covering parts of East Midlands, East of England, London and South East England, South West England, Wales, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber. All local areas affected are listed below.
The regions should prepare for substantial rainfall, starting on Saturday at around 6am and continuing until 11pm.The Yellow warning for rain was announced at 10:39am on Friday, November 28. A Met Office forecast said: “Rain, heavy at times, is expected to develop across southwest England on Friday night and spread northeastward during Saturday before clearing into the North Sea on Saturday night.
“There is uncertainty in the corridor of heaviest rainfall across England and Wales, but there is potential for 20-30 mm to fall fairly widely with 50 mm possible in places. Over high ground, there is a low chance of 60-80 mm falling. Strong winds may accompany this heavy rain, particularly across eastern parts of England on Saturday night.”
