Ed Sheeran’s neighbours create “forcefiled” to guard his household from bizarre followers

Ed Sheeran reveals how living in Sheeran-ville offers him protection from fans with neighbours sticking up for his family. He spills on how the 18,000 trees he planted have created a diverse forest with snakes and loves watching his infra-red security cameras at night

Ed Sheeran’s neighbours have created a protective “forcefield” around him in case anyone gets too weird with his family.

The hitmaker famously lives on a sprawling estate near Framlingham in Suffolk known locally as “Sheeran-ville”, the place where he and wife Cherry Seaborn grew up.

As a result Ed says it’s the only place in the word where he feels truly safe because everyone is looking out for him and his loved ones.

Local lad Ed spilled: “We don’t go out in spaces where (being hassled) could be a thing, because where we live is where we grew up, all our school mates live there and all our family.

“So if we go out to a pub nearby we know everyone and actually If there’s anyone in there that does act weird because there’s such a protective force field around it people will stick up for us without us needing to do anything.”

Sounds like a scene from the Wicker Man!

Ed loves the remoteness and familiarity of his estate: “There’s 200 people in my village, no grocery store. We go to a grocery store in town but there’s no Uber Eats no Uber, nothing. Amazon would take two three days.

“Because we haven’t got big chain businesses, everything in the square is family owned and family run.”

Ed’s renovated farmhouse is “older than America” and he’s built an underground movie theatre, a pub and had a full lake put in.

However, he’s most proud of his forest and critters who live in it.

Ed explained: “I built a chapel now, I have a full church. I wouldn’t say it’s acreage like Americans have acreage, but I have about 39 (acres) I think. We planted about 18,000 trees so it’s a big forest now.

“They’re fully grown now, they’re huge, I planted them in 2013, it used to be just a ploughed field and then I got the field and now it’s very rich and diverse.

“We have snakes and sh*t live there now. It’s totally a forest, we got muntjacs which are like mini deer in the garden and badgers. Because we have infra red security and we can see if people break in we will see all the mad wildlife at night.”

In fact “Sheeran-ville” is fully self sufficient.

“That house and property and everything on it, apart from the actual cottage which is from the 1600s, is (my creation),” he told the Friends Keep Secrets podcast. “And we’ve got a big vegetable garden where we grow veg. To have a purely organic gaff and garden you’ve just got to let it be. If they die they die.”
