Two-time World Series winner and Dodgers legend lifeless at 80

Former Major League Baseball star Davey Lopes has died aged 80 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. 

Lopes had been had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Rhode Island for the progressive brain disorder before he passed, according to TMZ.

Lopes was a two-time World Series champion and a four-time All-Star during his storied career. He spent the majority of his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers. 

He spent 10 years in LA and won one of his World Series titles during his time on the team, after playing a crucial role in their 1981 success.

He would later win his second World Series title during his coaching career, after helping the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Ray Bays in 2008.
