Jimmy Fallon’s weird antics irk F1 icon in painful Miami Grand Prix interview: ‘Don’t try this once more’
Jimmy Fallon bit off the microphone cover of Formula 1 broadcaster Martin Brundle during a chaotic interview at the Miami Grand Prix.
The late-night host was among the celebrities walking the grid ahead of Sunday’s race when he bumped into the Sky Sports crew.
Brundle’s pre-race walks have become a popular tradition of the F1 weekend and on Sunday, he tried to grab a word with Fallon.
But, in an odd interaction that quickly went viral, the Sky Sports broadcaster was left almost lost for words at Fallon’s antics.
‘Oh my God! Martin Brundle!’ the comedian and late-night host shouted as he shook Brundle’s hand. ‘What do you need? Can I get anything for you? Are you having fun?’
Moments later, Fallon took a bite into the foam cover and pulled it off Brundle’s microphone with his mouth. ‘Do not take my mic sock again,’ the broadcaster later warned him.

‘What are we doing here?’ Fallon then asked as he replaced the microphone cover. ‘I’m sorry about that.’
The TV star, who hosts NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ continued: ‘You’re the best. [It’s my] first time here, it’s nuts, crazy, I’m loving it. Miami is a great host. I’m going for Red Bull, I’m going for Max [Verstappen], he’s going to crush it.’
‘I’ve been here hanging out… it’s loud, it’s exciting, it’s crazy, I’m so happy to see you… this is the highlight right here.’
The Sky Sports icon also caught up with NBA star Bam Adebayo and rapper DJ Khaled during his grid walk on Sunday.
