Man and canine discovered lifeless in van on layby as police launch investigation into deaths

A man and a dog have been found dead inside a van in Cornwall as police have launched an investigation into their deaths.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to a layby on the B3273, St Austell, at 3pm on Friday (May 1) after concerns were raised.

The bodies of a man and a dog were found inside. His next of kin have been informed, reports Cornwall Live.

Police say enquiries are continuing as they work to establish the circumstances around the deaths. However, at this stay police say the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

A file will be prepared for the coroner. Pictures of the van show it being surrounded by tape with a bouquet left on the windscreen.
