Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois is a clash between two of British boxing’s biggest stars and the headline bout of the Don’t Blink card live in Manchester.

Two British heavyweights will square off in a domestic showdown this weekend when Fabio Wardley goes head-to-head with Daniel Dubois. The fightsre will collide on Saturday (May 9) as the main event of the ‘Don’t Blink’ card at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, and fans can order the pay-per-view here.

The clash will see Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) make his first defence of the WBO belt since the title was elevated from interim status following his October knockout of Joseph Parker. However, he must do so against a former IBF World Champion and one of the select few who can claim they floored Anthony Joshua.

London’s Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) shocked ‘AJ’ and a packed Wembley Stadium crowd in 2024 and could claim a second heavyweight world title with victory in Saturday’s fight. Wardley, 31, and Dubois, 28, are regarded as two of boxing’s most ‘destructive punchers’, with the proven finishers both possessing a 95% knockout ratio.

Wardley’s outstanding professional journey has earned him legions of admirers not only across the UK but globally, transforming from recruitment consultant and white-collar fighter to world champion. He burst into the spotlight with a British title triumph over David Adeleye in 2023 before securing a stalemate and explosive first-round stoppage against Olympian Frazer Clarke.

His remarkable ascent gathered pace when he secured the WBA Interim World title with a 10th-round knockout of Justis Huni, before his 11th-round victory over Parker eventually landed him WBO world championship glory when Oleksandr Usyk chose not to defend the belt. Dubois captured the WBA ‘regular’ world title by stopping Trevor Bryan in 2022 and successfully defended it against Kevin Lerena before taking on Usyk the following year, reports the Express.

“This is another piece of British heavyweight history being made,” he said. “This is quite simply the most exciting and explosive fight available for Fabio’s first defence of his WBO world title, and it tells you everything about him that this is the fight he demanded.

“Fabio’s journey has been extraordinary and inspiring, time and again he is written off, and time and again he proves people wrong. For Daniel to be attempting to become a two-time world champion at just 28 is equally remarkable.

“This will be his sixth world title fight, and across that run only Oleksandr Usyk has been able to defeat him.”
