Stunning influencer who flaunted wads of money arrested for drugging and robbing vacationers
Police arrested an influencer after she was accused of befriending foreign tourists, allegedly drugging them and stealing cash and valuables; items reportedly found in a rented flat
This is the moment police arrest a gorgeous influencer who flaunted cash after she was accused of drugging and robbing foreign tourists in Colombia. The arrest took place in Medellin, the capital of Colombia’s Antioquia region in the northwest of the country, on Wednesday (May 21).
Video footage shows Venezuelan content creator Valentina Mor, whose real name is Valentina Velasquez, being detained by officers during a police operation in the Laureles neighbourhood. Authorities said Valentina was detained during a joint operation carried out by the Metropolitan Police of the Aburra Valley, the SIJIN investigative unit and Colombia’s Attorney General’s Office.
Investigators searched an apartment rented through a digital platform where officers reportedly recovered cash, identity documents belonging to a US citizen, sunglasses, watches and other valuables that had been reported stolen by tourists.
Police said Valentina was suspected of approaching foreign visitors, gaining their trust and then allegedly drugging them in order to steal their belongings. Officials also said investigators were examining whether she acted alone or as part of a network targeting tourists in Medellin and Cartagena.
Mayor Federico Gutierrez wrote on social media: “She mocked the authorities on social media, posed with bundles of cash and believed she could hide behind followers and videos. Today she ended up arrested.”
Authorities said officers seized COP 1 million (£202) and USD 3,000 (£2,223) during the operation, along with several items linked to previous theft complaints. Valentina had previously been detained on May 1 after she was allegedly found with passports, identity documents and cash belonging to a foreign visitor in Medellin.
Another video shows the influencer posing with large amounts of cash, including Colombian pesos and US dollars, before her arrest. Local officials said she was later released because no formal complaint had been filed at the time.
Authorities said she remained in custody while prosecutors prepared charges of aggravated theft. The influencer first became famous in Colombia in 2021 after a viral street interview recorded in Cartagena in which she spoke with a Medellin-style accent while claiming to be from the city.
Her online popularity later grew through videos focused on parties, luxury lifestyles and travel, attracting millions of followers across social media platforms.
Valentina Mor adopted the nickname “Mor” from the local slang for “amor”.
Now thought to be 22 or 23, Valentina built her online following with videos centred on parties, travel and a “luxury lifestyle”, often leaning into regional accents and Medellín slang to shape a distinctive on-camera persona.
She was previously active across major platforms including Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, where her clips attracted large audiences.
